I don't know how may have noticed this but the Galaxy are all of nearly 5 matches (they are playing against Chivas USA right now) into the season and Donovan has 8 goals (including tonights hatrick). There are 10 minutes left.

It would seem that he's finally turned the corner and the team overall is able to get the ball forward and into the feet of their scorers.

Landon is averaging 1.6 goals a game, or 2 points if you like to count assissts.

The top goals scoreres in the Championship are in the low 20s after 30-36 matches.

His pace and skill are above the league he's in, and yet when he's in a better league he just hasn't played. I'm hoping for the national team's sake that he can capitolize on his learnings and score against European nations in Cup competition.

Donovan's personal MLS best is a mere 12 goals which he's done 3 times and ties him for 64th on the single season mark.

The single season record is held by Roy Lassiter with 27 in 1996 with the now defunct Tampa Bay Mutiny.
Last season Emilio edged Angel (19) with 20 for DC United.
