MLSinSeattle has styled itself after Barcelona. A team that is ultimately run by its most avid fans. A way to introduce America to Democracy in Sports.

The team had originally leaked that the possible names would be

FC Seattle
Seattle Alliance
Seattle Republic

This caused on outcry, as it should. One name which is decent and two that suck. The lack of Sounders even as an option was disappointing. The Sounders were the club back in the NASL days, as well as the A-League/USL team. The Sounders have been and are soccer in Seattle.

MLSinSeattle though changed their mind.
MLS SEATTLE

They now offer the write in option. So it will take some extra effort, but the name can be, and should be the Seattle Sounders.

Join myself, GoalSeattle.com, BigSoccer and others around the interweb and write-in "Seattle Sounders"

Its just that simple, and you too can help create a team where the voice of the fan matters. A team where Joe Roth and Paul Allen have to listen to people who make less than 40k a year.

Well, the announcement was pushed back to April 7th and First&Goal has purchased the domain name seattlesoundersfc.net and a few varients.

I think that the announcement was pushed back when a write-in won. You see when they thought it was going to be one of their handpicked three they could have all of the data prepped and ready to publish in just a few hours. But if a name that you didn't think was going to win, won could it really be ready by 11AM the morning after voting closes at midnight.

Next Monday is the new release date.
