I noticed today that of the 11 players that were brought over from Europe for the rivalry game in Houston was one Freddy Adu of Benefica in Portugal.

Adu had a ton of hype during his time with MLS but was merely an oft-played reserve.

With Benefica he has come on strong getting regular play and score two goals from his midfield position.

Here's hoping that he gets the start in the midfield for the National Team so we can see if this progress starts to justify the hype.

The Americans are attacking well today, but that counter from Mexico looks down right deadly.

In pregame they said that Adu was going to start but I'm not seeing him.

Donovan is in the mid, with Altidore and Dempsey upfront in a 4-4-2

With the US defenders backpedaling consantly this game should end in Mexicos favor unless something big happens.

This barrage from Mexico is getting rather trying. I can't imagine that Howardis pleased with his defenders tonight.

Bocanerga with a solid play just now, but still, this is all green. That doesn't feel great for the upcoming Qualifiers

Altidore and Adu lead me to have some hope for the future, but the Americans didn't look good in attack or defense outside of Howard.
