With the Lions taking Joe Thomas, I agree the bucs have to take Calvin or trade down.
Looks like a solid draft to me, the only 2 things I would question are : I just dont see Branch being the 1st defensive player taken over Okoye, Anderson and Adams And the other being you have Lynch dropping all the way to 29, he will be a top 15 pick, imo.

I was actually thinking in my head that the Jets would trade for Michael Turner before this point. However, if that were the case this would be the Chargers' pick, not the Jets'. I'll keep that in mind though. Also, i've already made some changes to my draft and moved Lynch up to Green Bay's pick...i've updated my draft now and moved some players around.
I also don't really think that New Orleans will take a TE, but I couldn't decide who they would take. I think that the Bears would be interested in Olsen if they could get him, though. Last edited by bnereson; February 21st, 2007 at 11:19 AM. |

The only way the Packers would pass on Dwayne Jarrett is if Calvin Johnson was still there.
Joe Thomas, btw, wishes he would fall to Tampa so he can be near his family in SWFla. Not saying he would, just thought it was interesting that someone actually WANTS to go to Tampa.

The Packers don't have an immediate need at WR where they have a very good Donald Driver the way they need a RB (assuming Green leaves). Even if Green stays, he's on his last legs. Also, I am expecting GB to trade a 3rd or 4th for Randy Moss.

Neither Donald Driver or Greg Jennings are big time WR threats, especially near the end zone. Calvin Johnson is the prototypical WR, and Dwayne Jarrett is the prototypical west coast WR. They'd be fools not to draft either if the opportunity arose. The whole reason they switched to a zone blocking running game was so that they wouldn't have to take a 1st round RB. I can see us drafting one, but it's a waste to do so in either of the first two rounds, if we can get a bigger impact player on defense or in the stagnant passing game.

I would HARDLY call Driver "one of the best WRs in the game".

You cannot be serious in calling Donald Driver one of the best WRs in the game. He is a very good WR, but the difference between him and say Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt, Chad Johnson is astronomical. Not only that but Driver is near the age where he is going to start to slow down, which is his main attribute. The Packers offense struggled all year because the lack of a big tall WR that they could throw a jump ball to, and who could be a threat in the Red Zone. I.E. the losses to St. Louis, Buffalo. Not only that, but the Packers lack depth at the WR position as well.

to me, being considered one of the best in the game would be being in the top half. I would no doubt consider driver in the top 1/2 of #1 WRs. He's probably around 8 or 9. That gives the packers a better top WR than 23 other teams.
