There have been reports that the reds may trade him and they are also saying he is unhappy. He say he wants to go to the cubs that would be hard because the cubs can not take on salary beyond this year.
With that said what would you think of the idea of Jr comming here. He could play CF with johnny being hurt and possabily going to the DL. He could also Dh with Giambi being out for a while. And if were really wanted to we could teach him how to play First but that wouild only be if were despret at first. |

Would he be open to coming to the Yankees? (He has said in the past that he wouldn't play for the Yankees because of the way they treated his father, but others have said things like that too, such as Damon and A-Rod.) If so, he might be worth picing up if the price isn't too high. Maybe they would throw in one of their relievers, such as perhaps the ex-Yankee Stormy Weathers.
What would the Yankees have to give up to get Griffey? Is it a price worth paying? BTW, he signed a reduced contract with the Reds -- hometown discount. I think he "only" makes around $10 million. Not too exorbitant for a contender with some money to spare. |

A-Rod is with the Yankees because the Yankees were the only ones who could afford him. Damon went to the highest bidder. That being said, K-Griff wouldn't play in NY for the Mets and won't play in NY for the Yankees even if he starts demanding a trade.
We'll sooner see him back in Seattle than in Yankee pinstripes.

Not quite true. Remember that Boston was thisclose to completing a trade for him. It didn't fall apart for money reasons. AFTER it fell apart, the Rangers came to the Yankees about him. And Texas is still paying part of his salary.

Umm, the reason the deal fell through was because the MLBPA would not allow ARod to rework his contract for less money.
