With the Red Sox running away from the Yanks and the Yanks being closer to the bottom of the division than the top, all kinds of rumors are swirling that The Boss is about to toss Torre aside.
![]() Graph courtesy of The Hardball Times Boss isn't ready to get rid of Torre, yet Who's the real Boss of this Yankee mess? Yankees' struggles could be particularly costly for Torre I think that George will give Torre at least a handful of Clemens' starter before he hands Torre the pink slip, but I have a feeling that Joe's leash is pretty short.

I dont think Torre should get fired but he does need to turn this around soon. Keep in mind its only the first half of the season and we usually pick it up in the 2nd half. All we need to do is get a winning streak going and i think we can catch up.

It's Cashman that should be run out of town, but I think Joe IS gone if Cashman is gone because it signifies a change in direction for the Yankees. if George commits to a long haul rebuild (HAHAHAHAHA! Yeah..... riiiiiiiight) then Joe would be charged with teaching - not competing. He may not want to be involved in such, or feel himself too old to wait that long.
