Bernie should be a oine-team guy like so many other Yankee stars. (And others around baseball.) Seeing him with the Phillies or Marlins or someone just wouldn't be right.
Hopefully, a move will be made later in spring training that will open up a spot for #51. |

Tim-
Where would you like to see Bernie fit in? Quite honestly, it's a waste of a roster spot right now if he's on the team. I understand the sentimentality of it all, but hell, Ty Cobb and Willie Mays didn't play their careers with one team. Would it be nice? Of course. The reality is that if he feels he can still play everyday, he has to do it elsewhere. |

It's very sad that a servicable player like Williams can't play where he wants. BUT, he has to be a man about this. I still think if he were in Florida it would be a good fit. Defensively he is a liability, if the Yankees had moved him out of center WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE we wouldn't have this dilemma now. I've said this a million times, but we always get players we covet, instead of who we need. We didn't need Jason Giambi, we had Tino and Johnson. We have played bad poker for a time that left us out of position for Vlad and Beltran. But thats all water under the bridge.
It would be nice to have Bernie, IF there was a spot for him. Playing everyday in another city with no other players to buffer him he might come to the realization he can't play every day, or that DH is not such a bad deal. |

Even if bernie plays for someone for the year, he'll always be a Yankee - same as Dwight Evans - he played for hte O's one year at the end of his career, but he was always a Sox to me.
It would be nice for him to catch on with an ML team, just so the fans can give him a huge ovation. I'd applaud - man was a great player. |

Absolutely. I wish Bernie would have just hung it up with dignity and not played this charade. He is done here and with a year off likely won't be sought after elsewhere.
