Sandy Alomar Jr??

Just when I think the Yanks are thinking about getting younger, a guy I know who does some free lance scouting and agents work tells me the Yanks are looking at Sandy Alomar Jr for the back-up role.
Don't you want a solid, dependable, defensive catcher for that spot?
Anyone else heard anything on this??

They signed Todd Pratt recently, if memory serves me correctly, so I don't know what Sandy will do except join the father-son list.

Pratts a non-roster invitee with no guarantees, and I think he's 40 as well. They must have an idea because the didn't tender Fasano and they had wanted to groom him for coaching and managing.

When Posada was younger, I liked the idea of having an older, experienced backup behind him. Now I think I'd prefer to have someone younger watching and learning, like Jorge did with Girardi when he first came up.

Doing well, busy as hell, but doing well.
Am going to try and spend some time here, but it's been tough. I'm really itching for the season this year, and I don't really know why.
I'm trying to tell as many as possible about the rebirth of the REAL site.
I hope it catches on.
