A Stadium for the Yanks & Giants

The Giants wanted NYC to build a stadium for them AND the Yankees near the Whitestone Bridge 32 years ago. The Yankees told the city they were more than happy with the Stadium. It is now 32 years since the present Yankee Stadium was renovated.

No pictures of the proposal?

More recently, there had been talk about the west side yards proposed stadium being used for both the Jets and the Yankees.

But in the end, I think all three teams being mentioned in this thread at this point -- the Giants, Jets and Yankees -- are happy with what they have gotten. Giants stadium was a good football venu (teh swamps of Jersey was optimal for a once-a-week event anyway) and will be getting a new park. New Yankee stadium is coming along great and looks beautiful.
