Default Most devastating loss in team history

Last week, McCarver went into what he thought the Phillies franchise most devastating loss was. (1977 NLCS - Game 3)

For the Mets, I think 1988 NLCS - Game 4 has to rate pretty high - The Mike Scioscia's 2-run HR in the 9th to snatch the 3-1 series lead away and the Mets lost in 7.

That's probably a good one to list... 1988 was a killer in general for the mets -- trading all that pitching talent for Frank Viola and seeing them contribute to the Twins championships in a few years. All the while the Mets imploded in 1989 and truly didn't become worth watching again until 1998.
