OT: Yanks win rights to Igawa

WFAN is reporting that the Yankees have won the rights to LHP Kei Igawa with a 25M bid.

From earlier reports that I had heard, the Mets bid was in the region of 10M.

Let the Yanks have him..would rather see the Mets spend the money on Glavine, Zito, and/or Mulder.

along the same lines, i was wondering about this...could it be that the Red Sox have no intention on signing D-Mat and are just going thru the motions..A few people have told me that they just wanted to keep the Yanks from signing him and that is why they bid so ridiculously high...They win the bid, let the 30 days pass,he goes back to the Seibu Lions, the Sox get their money back and the Yanks are out of it...sounds a little underhanded yet smart... this is all pure speculation but I wouldn't be surprised considering the animosity between those two teams...

I have absolutely no problem with the Mets not winning the rights to Kei Igawa. Let the Yankees have him.

i agree yankees can have him for all i care he is goign to get F***** in the MLB if u ask me. Did ne1 else c the bomb David Wright hit off him in the series in JAPAN
