Is this a done deal yet?
I have no problem with this, as long as the guy never makes the big league roster in any capacity. Julio Franco is enough for one more year. Besides, the moment I heard about this, it sounded like one of those deals where the aging player gets cut in spring training and retires. |

Done deal as of Jan. 31 - 6:43 pm et
Mets signed outfielder Ruben Sierra to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. The 41-year-old Sierra will be stashed away in Triple-A just in case the Mets need an extra bat later. Ideally, he won't see the majors again until September. |
