Default Willie Randolph

Is it just me or did Randolph really deserve the Manager of the Year award? I was pretty ticked that he did not receive it.

He did deserve it I believe. His team had the best record in the majors, and this was the second year he improved the Mets record by a lot. I thought he was a shoo in, but then I was so surprised. Oh well, next year???

I have no problem with Girardi winning it... i mean hell, the Marlins had no business playing as well as they did. Willie did a fantastic job, and he's only going to get better. Hopefully Omar and Willie will be in Flushing for a very long time together.

I feel bad that Girardi got fired, that's a shame. Then I hear that after he won the award, no one from Florida called him.

While Willie Randolph deserved the Manager of the Year award, Joe Girardi deserved it just as much, if not more. The Marlins were not supposed to be a good team, playing a lot of young players. But, they performed well. I was impressed with them.

Willie did a great job. Willie overcame injuries plus previously suspect players and pitchers blossomed under him. If not for the great job that Girardi did, Willie would have walked away with it.

Willie had a great year in a great situation and likely ould have won it in most years. Bottom line Girardi just did more with less.

I thought Willie Randolph did a really good job this year, and from what I saw he is the best manager the Mets have had that I can remember. At the same time though, you have to remember that the Mets had the highest payroll in the NL so they should have had the most wins, and the Marlins had the lowest payroll in baseball by far.

They only spent a little over 14 mil and the next lowest was over 35 mil
