Exclamation Mets trade Bannister for Burgos

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6242398

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Mets, seeking to bolster their bullpen with a young power arm, are discussing a trade in which they would land right-hander Ambiorix Burgos from the Royals for a pitching prospect.

Burgos, 22, was 4-5 with a 5.52 ERA last season for the Royals in 73 1/3 innings. He had greater success as a rookie in 2005, going 3-5 with a 3.98 ERA in 63 1/3 innings.

The Mets recently suffered two defections from their bullpen, losing free-agent right-hander Chad Bradford to the Orioles and free-agent right-hander Roberto Hernandez to the Indians. A third reliever, right-hander Duaner Sanchez, is coming off surgery to repair a separated right shoulder.

Would be a good addition if he can pitch like he did in 2005.

Depending on what pitching prospect the Mets give up, I think Ambiorix Burgos would be a nice addition to the Mets bullpen.

I dont want to give up a prospect starter for a half-a$$ reliever.

Before I scrolled down, the first name that came to mind was Bannister. Then I scrolled down and saw it.

Pelfrey or Humber would be too much, but most other arms wouldn't be enough. It seems like a reasonable deal.

I am okay with the Mets trading Brian Bannister form Ambiorix Burgos. I did like what Bannister did for the Mets last season, but Burgos would be a nice addition to the Mets bullpen.

Looks like a solid trade for both teams. Let me offer you some advice keep a bottle of tums around for when Burgos comes into the game. He has a live arm and potential to be a solid setup man in baseball. However he was rushed to the majors and he has made things interesting to say the least.
