Default Nuggets and Knicks in wild brawl near end of game

NEW YORK (AP) -- Ten players, including NBA scoring leader Carmelo Anthony, were ejected for fighting during a wild brawl near the end of Saturday night's game between the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks.

All 10 players on the court at the time were tossed for their involvement in the ugly incident that spread across the court and spilled into the crowd at Madison Square Garden.

Anthony scored 34 points before the melee took place with about 1:15 left in the Nuggets' 123-100 victory over the Knicks.

The fight started after Knicks reserve Mardy Collins flagrantly fouled Denver's J.R. Smith. With punches being thrown by several players, the hitting and grabbing continued for several minutes before coaches and security ran onto the court and finally restored order.

Anthony was involved in a fight with the Knicks' Nate Robinson, who jumped into to jaw at Smith after the foul. Both Smith and Robinson ended up flying into the stands in the NBA's ugliest scene since the brawl between Pacers players and Detroit fans in 2004.

With each team forced to put five new players on the floor, Denver finished up the win and ended a two-game losing streak. Marcus Camby had 24 points and nine rebounds, and Andre Miller added 12 points and 10 assists for the Nuggets.
Well we lost but the big story here is the brawl. Wow just what we needed .

Marbury did have a good game though (for once) with 31 points and 8 assists (13-24 FG's and 3-8 at 3pt FG's).

I expect that only four of the guys involved will get suspensions that are more than two games. For the Knicks it will be Collins and Robinson (the little punk that threw the first sucker punch). for the Nuggets it will be J.R> Smith and Anthony (for the cuker punch on Collins). I expect each of these four to get 5-10 games. This will hurt the Nuggets more than the Knicks. The Nuggets are a playoff calibre team, while the Knicks are whipping boys for the better teams in the league.

At first i would have said ok Carmelo and Nate will only be suspended 10 games but now i think Carmelo gets suspended 20 games and Nate about 15 games.

Hopefully this fight will get the Knicks to play tougher...

This brawl sucks for the Nuggets because almost there whole starting lineup will be suspended at least 1 game. Most of our starters were on the bench when this happened (Eddie Curry, Marbury, Crawford and some bench players).

Ugly way to end the game

Everything was pretty much calm and then Melo decided to be a punk and throw a sucker punch and run away like 4 yr old girl.

Melo and JR will get the brunt of the suspension time, IMO

Also, no-way the starters should have been on the floor at that point in the game.

a 4 year old girl is giving Carmelo too much credit... He threw a sucker punch when Collins wasn't looking, then ran away to the other side of the court.

JR and Carmelo both should get 20 games, the rest should be under 10.

Robinson should probably get around 10 but Carmelo needs to get 15-20 games. There was no reason for that. Carmelo and his reputation come out looking the worse in all of this.

What about Isiah's comment just before the fight started telling Carmelo to stay out of the paint? Does he deserve anything?

Nothing on Isiah so far... could he still be fined/suspended in the coming days or is the league's judgement on this done?
