Default Are we a playoff team?

In the preseason, all I heard from friends was how we were going to finish 3-13 or 4-12. Know who's laughing? I feel the Jets have a very legitamite shot at making the playoffs (though the Jacksonville win last night didn't help much). The rest of our schedule we play sub .500 teams. Jax has a relatively tough schedule ahead and we can make a push to get ahead of them in the standings. If we do, it will probably have to be at 10-6 or 11-5.

For those who still doubt we are a good team, keep in mind that we should have won that Bears game. Take out Drew Coleman slipping on the 8-yard passing that ending up going 40+ YAC for a TD and take out Pennington's INT from the Bears' 6 yard line and we win 7-3.

Yes, I think we’re a playoff team, though we have a lot of competition for the spot.

Our solid coaching staff and favorable schedule is hiding a lot of the team’s flaws. If we beat all the teams we should beat (home against Texans, Bills, and Raiders and at the Packers, Vikings, and Dolphins), we should finish with at least 10 wins.

I think it’s safe to say the Pats, Ravens, Colts, Broncos, and Chargers are going to make the playoffs.

That leaves just one spot open for Chiefs, Jaguars, Bengals, and us.

Chiefs are a game better than us, but are only 2-4 in the AFC. We’re 4-4. They also should lose to the Broncos, Ravens, Chargers, and Jaguars to finish 9-7.

Jaguars own the tiebreaker against us. They should lose to the Dolphins, Colts, and Pats to finish 9-7.

Bengals should lose to the Ravens, Colts, and Broncos to finish 8-8.

As long as we take care of what we should do, we’ll make it!

By the way, is there any chance I can become a moderator here?
Thanks.

I think we are a playoff team as long as we win games that we should win. We lose stupid games that we should win. If we dont screw up and Pennington plays good and throws not a lot of INT's then we can make the Playoffs as a wildcard.

I like our chances at beating the Chiefs and Bengals.. I'm not too happy with ours against Jacksonville. David Garrard scares me a bit at what he can do. I feel like the 41-0 loss will come back to bite us in the behind.

As for the moderator position, contact me through PM or e-mail and I'll pass it along to those with authority.

Keep in mind we lost to the Browns, a team we clearly should've beaten (though we also clearly should've won... Baker was forced out!)

I think the Jets can make the Playoffs. But, anything can happen. Regardless, I am happy with how the Jets have performed this season. They have pretty much exceeded just about everyone's expectations.

As long as we keep up the intensity we had yesterday, we should win the rest of our games..
