Default Asante Samuel ends holdout

Quote:
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -- New England Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel ended his holdout Monday, returning to the team after missing the first three preseason games.

Samuel was taking a physical Monday, coach Bill Belichick said.

It was not immediately clear whether he would practice with the team later in the day, and Belichick declined to comment on whether Samuel would play in the Patriots' preseason finale Thursday against the visiting New York Giants.

About time for the Patriots, they needed to sign him as soon as they could. I don't know what was their biggest destraction: Samuel's holdout, Randy Moss and his injury, or Brady's baby.

10 INT's last season, the guy deserved the big bucks.

Lucky Pats, i don't know how they could let him hold out for so long though.

Like you said, he really deserves big money. 10 INTs isn't something to joke about.

I think he deserves a major raise, but I can't stand it when players holdout when they get franchised or are in the last year of their contracts. I mean your not proving what a great player you are, if you're not on the field performing your art.

I too doubt he'll be here in 09, but stranger things have happened. The situation with Harrison makes me wonder what kind of impact it will have on the Samuel contract situation

It means that his opportunity shine all by himself in the backfield will be there. I just don't think it will matter, the Patriots have basically discarded everyone in similar situations.
