TORONTO (AP) -- It took only one look for voters to pick this year's class of Hockey Hall of Famers.

Mark Messier, Ron Francis, Al MacInnis and Scott Stevens all were elected in their first year of eligibility.

"I have a lot of respect for all the guys who were inducted this year," Messier said after the announcement Thursday. "I think their stats and what they've done speak for themselves."

The induction ceremony will be held Nov. 12.

All of those guys deserved to be inducted in the Hall of Fame. Igor Larionov, Adam Oates, and Claude Lemiux were all passed over.

This is a very solid class and I think it's enough guys for one year....

What a class of players going into the HOF. Hearing these names listed as new HOF members, just reminds me how old I am for one, and how much the game has changed over the years whether you agree or not with the league's direction.
