Default Home teams and the shootout...

The Redwings lost their third shootout of the season tonight (still yet to win this year in the shootout). Detroit was playing at home and chose to shoot first --- the article below is appropriate:
=================================================

NHL.com article:
http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=p...ticleid=283614

"There have been 40 shootouts through the first seven weeks (307 games) of the season. The home team has opted to shoot first in 26 of those games — but won only 10 of them, a .385 winning percentage. In the other 14 games, when home teams allowed the visiting team to shoot first, they went 8-6 (.571). That’s why home teams overall were 18-22 (.450) after going 75-70 (.517) last season."
