Re-Entry Waivers

Does anyone know...if you pick up a player on re-entry waivers, does his former team have to pick up half his salary for that season only or the term of the contract? Thanks.

I think if you snatch up a player on re-entry waivers, you are indebt to his full contract. His previous team doesn't have to pay anything...

I'm wrong, probably, but that is what I assumed.

John, I think if you snatch someone off re-entry waivers, the previous team has to pay half of the salary.

Yes. But is it for that year or the entire term of the contract?
