Default Worst team in the NFL?

The worst team in the NFL, without a doubt, are the Cleveland Browns.

It does not matter who you put in at QB - Derek Anderson, Charlie Frye, Brenda Quinn, they all suck.

The whole notion that Brenda will spark a fire under the offense is a load of bull. First off, he is a rookie who missed the majority of training camp. Secondly, he is not that good of a player and lastly, did I not mention the Browns suck? When Quinn is put into the fire, he will struggle, and Browns fans will be so dumbfounded, they will be chanting "DILFER DILFER DILFER!" When they realize they they wanted his ass gone in favor of Frye, they will chant "GARCIA GARCIA!" When they again realize they ran him out of town in 04, they start thinking Tim Couch? Kelly Holcomb? Ah the hell with "GRADY SIZMORE!"

I mean that's how sad Cleveland football is. The most talented receiver in the city of Cleveland is LeBron James (he could have been a Pro Bowl TE).

I strongly believe drafting Brenda was purely based on public relations. Drafting the hometown kid who grew up rooting for the Browns who comes home and become the next Tom Brady, revitalizing the city of Cleveland and making them relevent again. The problem is, he is not a franchise QB, more like the next Rick Mirer.

Charlie Weiss made Brenda into a NFL prospect but it just wont work out. The Browns were silly trading away a top five pick next year. They should have just kept their second round pick and drafted either Kevin Kolb or John Beck.

Its so bad in Cleveland that Romeo was talking how his team had a 3-1 recond in the preason. Yes, he said we "beat Denver and Chicago on the road.....

The Raiders and Falcons are bad, no question, but they at least still have their first round pick next year. I could see the Raiders having a nice second half surge when Daunte Culpepper is starting and Dominic Rhodes come back.

The Giants are pretty bad but I have a very strong feeling that with Eli out, they will tank the rest of the season, draft Darren McFadden and bring in Jon Gruden (we all know he is getting canned) to take the Giants to the Super Bowl in 09.

After week one it is hard to tell... still much to be seen....

But I believe you are right that Cleveland is AMONG the worst in the NFL.... Oakland, NY Giants, Atlanta, Buffalo, and maybe even the Jets can all be considered in that grouping....

Who knows... Cleveland may have their bigger talents start to click..... Harrington could grow a set of shoulders and carry the team to mediocrity instead of the cellar.... we have a lot to see as the teams start to settle and gel into what they will be... I think we will have a better picture in about 3 or so weeks as to who the truly horrid teams are

That move could also be seen of stockpiling picks for improvement in the future.. we all knew that Frye had no long term place on this team anyway... and was he any better than Anderson??/ That move basically just frees it up for Quinn to be the legit #2 QB

And I am not sure how bad the Falcons will be.. in the NFC there are lots of possible wins... the Falcons could end up 3-13 or could be closer to .500... who knows how those chips will fall until we have seen more

It's sad how you feel the need to kick the Browns while they are down. You are clearly a Steelers fan that feels to need to bully on a rebuilding team... one that was set up to fail from their reinstatement in 1999. Congrats, you pointed out the obvious.

Thank you for ripping on my team.

This is professional sports he's talking about, not your grandmother.

I think the Browns are as bad as it gets in the NFL right now. There might be another team that's worse in a few weeks or months, but at this moment, there is not a team worse than the Browns. Granted, they played the Steelers last week, but that was an abysmal game: six sacks, five turnovers, and four penalties on a fifteen-yard punt. I like the Browns and love seeing them win, but that's a team in a bad situation right now.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what's so bad about the Giants? They won 8 games last year and played a reasonably close game against last year's division winner. They aren't going to win a Super Bowl this year, but that's hardly the worst team in the league.

Well, that shows what I know: 51 points today against the Bengals. Anderson has thrown for 320 yards and five touchdowns.

Looks like we need to find a new victim.

They've been outscored by 16 points per game, but at least they have an offense. Too me the team that is surprisingly awful are the New Orleans Saints, from expected SuperBowl contender to piss poor -48 point differential and only 3 TDs so far.

Looks like everyone bashing the Browns was wrong.

The only reason why the Bucs are in first place is because Michael Vick is in jail and Jake Delhomme is out for the year.

Well I think it also has something to do with them winning their own football games. I mean Vick is in jail and delhomme is out for the year but the Saints aren't in first?

I'm curious why you think LeBron James could have been a tight end in the NFL.

LeBron was the premier WR prospect in the country as a sophomore in High School. I believe in just two seasons of varsity football he had somewhere around 2,400 yards receiving and like 25 some TDs. Those numbers may not be right, but they are reasonably close. However I think a major disservice was done to Braylon Edwards with the original statement that LBJ would be the best WR in the city.
