The problem with the game being played outside the United States -- and Goodall is making a wise choice trying to market the NFL brand globally -- is that it puts the players under more of a microscope than usual. I don't mean that in the sense that in a sense that things would be more intense but I do mean they would be more annoying.

Toronto would be a good outside-the-US location for a game (because Americans can venture there) or perhaps Germany where the NFLE is supposed to be doing well and the fans are almost as passionate as here in the US. Having them exposed to the big game may lure them in even more.

2012 as a London Olympics preview in a 100,000 seat New Wembley?

How does one define "struggle" or attendance?

Total for the year? Per game average? Percent to capacity?

Now the NFL is thinking about playing a 17th game each year. Every team would play 16 games outside the United States.

Are there 16 non-US cities that could support an NFL gane every year?

Well.... let's see

Toronto
Mexico City
London
Paris
Tokyo
Berlin

All of those would be obvious choices...

but would it have to be all cities outside the US???... for Example.. Honolulu

IMHO they would also have to have some way of scheduling the bye week for coushoning when it comes to any international travel for the players

I assume that Jose is talking about every team playing one home game outside of a non-NFL city?
Montreal, VancouverBC, MontereyMX, Barcelona, Rome are a couple more.

I think they'd do better playing that extra game in non-NFL cities in the US.

I think its a stupid idea in general. How will they decide who plays who?

I don't know but Dallas and Houston playing in Austin at the U of T stadium would be HUGE

Well that's nice but every team doesn't have a natural geographic rival. Dallas and Houston play every fourth year anyway.

Titans and Colts at UT (Knoxville) would be huge as well.

Titans-colts alreay play twice a year. They likely aren't going to schedule a third game between the teams.

I read the plan is not for 16 cities, but rather to play at maybe four differant places with each city hosting four games. That might be more doable, but I wonder what the demand for the NFL in London will be for a Lions-Raiders game, especially once the novelty wears off after a couple of years.

I don't think it will happen. I'm just sayin' that that game would be huge in one of the biggest houses in football. And of course there's always that 'Peyton' connection.

They sold half the tickets available in less than 90 Minutes.
