Well, although I am not a fan of Joey I like this signing by the Falcons. After trading Schaub they needed a backup qb with some experience, and I think Harrington may be the guy. Plus its not like he is starting, he is just a backup, and a pretty solid one ![]()

This is the signing of a capable and viable backup that has some flashes of good stuff when forced in a position where he has to play

Yeah I agree with you, Harrington did look good at times last season. He had 12 TD's and 15 INT's last year. To me he is one of those guys that never fully had a chance to be a success.
The Lions never gave him much help, espically with the horrible O-Line the had and the Dolphins were a rebuilding team when he took over. Here is a link to his stats: Joey Harrington - Miami Dolphins - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Halfway decent signing; with Vick's style of play it's always good to have a back-up who could at least play somewhat if need-be. Looks like the back-up job in Atlanta will come down to Redman, Shockley, and Harrington. Although you clearly have to give the advantage to Harrington right now.

This was good signing for the Atlanta Falcons.I like Joey Harrington even when he was in college.I think in the NFL especially with quarterback it's all about the playbook or some people call the system. For example, Jeff Garcia was looking do-do in cleveland but he go to philly and he looking like he was SF again

It is about the system but its also about the QB and Harrington hasnt proved he can play in ANY system outside of Oregons.
He wasnt even that special in college he had a 52 % completion percentage which is pretty damn AWFUL for college. He has the same completion % in the NFL. If joey never see's the field then yea who cares about the signing but I just dont think he can be an NFL QB
