Default Skins Offer Trade for Briggs

for the 6th pick in the draft

The team will be swaping 1st round picks, so the Skins get Briggs and the 31st pick for the 6th pick in the draft with other possible compensation.

Just heard this on ESPN Radio, trade will be complete tomorrow

What an AWFUL deal for the Skins, you do not trade the 6th pick in the draft for Lance Briggs, im sorry you just dont. The Skins dont even need another LB they needed a Gaines Adams or a Jamal Anderson for the DL.

This makes no sense to me for the Skins

On the other hand this is a STEAL for the Bears.

The Bears made off in this deal holy cow. The Redskins just don't value the draft at all it seems. They just buy their players like the Yankees and don't develop. I guess that's Joe Gibbs being old and not wanting to develop players for the long haul, they just buy players to win now.

You couldnt be more right interms of the Skins blowing off the draft.

Its going to come back to haunt them, it already has with their aging team and no real youngsters aside from Campbell

WOW... better than I thought they would ever get.... the Bears can now get nice youthful talent to put in their mix... not bad at all... and in doing so got rid of a guy who was threatening to sit out anyway...

On the Skins side... I cannot say it is all bad... but I am one who likes to build a lot from the draft and I just can't really see trading away that kind of a draft pick

pathetic by the Skins. Daniel Snyder loves to spend money, but he doesn't care about winning.

Do the Bears now draft Adrian Peterson to replace Thomas Jones? I know they already have Adrian Peterson, but it is hard to pass on AD.

They traded Jones because they want Benson to be the feature back, I HIGHLY doubt they would then draft AP.

I wouldnt be shocked to see them take Quinn, IF he is still sitting there.

Briggs is a very young player who has proven himself in an NFL system, all be it playing beside a stud MLB. I like the trade for both teams. Defense wins Championships and they have a guy that will be good for the next 8 or 9 years. Nothing is guaranteed in the draft I'd rather have a young proven talent like Briggs than a defensive bust like Courtney Brown.

I'd be surprised if the Bears didn't take Alan Branch or Amobi Okoye to fill the depth of their DT spot, they lost Ian Scott, signed Anthony Adams...but another young stud to go with Tommie Harris would be insane.

Branch's stock has fallen when reports came out that he was out of shape for his work out and I think Okoye would be a SLIGHT reach @ 6. Although I LOVE Okoye I cant see him going @ 6. But I would take Okoye over Branch at this point.

I doubt it also, but it would be ironic to have two Adrian Petersons. They will either draft Amobi Okoye, Alan Branch, LaRon Landry, Pat Willis, or trade down. I hope they trade down to Atlanta or possibly Buffalo who could target Adrian Peterson. At the 12th spot they could probably get Okoye, Willis, or Branch.

Except the Yankees actually win and make the playoffs. Its moves like these that make me glad the Redskins are in the NFC East.

Default .

It says on ESPN that the Bears have said no to the deal. A top ten pick isn't enough?
