3 big name FA's all got slapped with the Franchise tag today

Pats - Asante Samuel

Bengals - Justin Smith

Bears - Lance Briggs

I thought that the Pats were going to let Samuel go, so that kind of shocked me but I think everyone knew that the Bears were going to tag Briggs.

Dwight Freeney should be the next big name player to get tagged. I should say, you would ASSUME the Colts would tag him.

The FA class, just got alot weaker

Interesting to see some of these names, all of them are defensive players by the way!

It looks like teams are starting to notice a good defense leads to good results.

Justin Smith surprises me, because I thought he has underproduced so far in his career. Asante Samuel has been a saving grace for the Pats, I'm glad he is going to get paid.

Asante Samuel deserves big money. I am glad he got franchised. We'll see if the Pats can lock up a long term deal with their other big free agent Daniel Graham.
