I mean, in all honesty.......It would be hard to find a coach to mess up how GOOD the Chargers can be. You can stick a monkey in as HC next year and the Chargers should win 11 games
They need to find a coach that can win in the playoffs, and I dont see that guy on the market unless they have something up their sleeves

IMHO they will need a veteran NFL coach that has enough coaching connections to fill up the entire coaching staff.. there are not many choices to go with that have this qualification...
Look for a lot of news about Norv interviewing here

IF SD would want him, then I think Norv would be a moron not to take that job.
Assuming he can find a good DC, there is no way that he can screw up that Offense. It would be hard for a DC to screw up that D too.... As I said, I dont care who they hire, they will sleep walk into 11 wins Jim Fassel is the guy I would hire

In watching ESPN, the Chargers have already asked to interview Norv
Turner, and Mike Singletary, both coaches with the 49ers. It would seem that Turner has the inside slot, but there is some speculation, that the Chargers may pull a complete and go with someone like Iron Mike. He is an intense leader, but young enough it is felt to connect with the players, and keep them in sync. The only drawback to that is the concern may not be experienced enough to put together a coaching staff. I really like Singletary, and really hoped he would get the 49ers DC job simply for the sake of continuity. It will be interesting to see who Spanos picks, because if you can't get along with Marty, then you are one sorry individual.

Apparently from all accounts Ted Cotrell is going to be the guy that they hire.
Wow, firing Marty for Ted Cotrell, are you serious ????? I take what I said back.....it is possible for them to hire someone that could mess this up. Ted Cotrell being one of those guys

The Chargers need a coach that has been in and won the big games. If they hire a former coach or coordinator, I'd really think it'd be in their best interest to get a guy who has coached his team to or won the Superbowl. Bringing in someone with "potential" doesn't make sense for a team that went 14-2 and is predicted to win the Superbowl. In fact, I think Bill Parcells would make a great coach for the Chargers. I think the character of the players on the Chargers fits Parcells type players. Even the players he brought in when he coached Dallas didn't really fit him (ahem..Terrell Owens??). I think San Diego messed up big time firing Marty this year. But I can also see how firing him makes sense from a buisness standpoint.
