I'm so sad to hear it. I love Favre and I've watched almost his entire career since I started watching football in 1995. He is a guy I never got tired of being hyped. I loved watching him play. I don't think you can say he was the greatest quarterback ever because of the mistakes he was prone to make, but he is on the short list and he certainly is as much fun to watch as any quarterback ever.
It's sad that the last pass he threw was that interception, but on the whole it's great that he was able to finish his career with a great season. |

Facing him twice yearly in teh Norris until the NFL re-aligned gave me a chance to appreciate him. I appreciate Dovovan McNabb in the same way though McNabb is not Farve. Mike Vick hd been played up in teh media like Farve bu his character and his work eithic never came close to Brett. Nor his accomplishments.

I'm glad I had the fortune to enjoy watching his last two games. Including his last game in the snow.
He went out on top. No, not a Super Bowl, but on the top of his game following one of his best seasons ever. Loyal to the team and its fans. Bravo. |

I agree with the out-on-top sentiment and watching him elude the Seahawks in teh snow and throw that pass... That's opne to take with you. I ahve a few Brett memories (him and Warren Sapp going at each other, wild west Farve who couldn't throw a completion (1993)... oh and "There's Something About Mary" that they'll never know

That's not what I'll remember Favre for. He's not someone that ever got old to me. I'll remember the games in the mid-90s, when they made it to at least the division round five years in a row, and Favre was the quarterback in the league. |

Congrats on a great carreer Favre.
Maybe My Lions will be able to beat the Packers this year. Who are the Packers looking at for QB next year?

BMW isn't around to talk about his dislike of Rodgers. I wonder - continuing on adeel's thought -- how much veteran depth they will bring in to compete for the starting role?

How much veteran depth can they bring in? There's Daunte Culpepper, and I can't think of anyone else off hand. Rodgers played very well against Detroit. If they've been grooming him for this long, he's at least worth a shot, though personally the whole thing reminds me of John Elway giving way to...Brian Griese.

^^ odd coincidence. Griese got traded back to Tampa bay by the Bears and that means Tampa Bay is / continues to be overstocked with QBs. Chris Simms is the immediate odd-man-out that could be had. The Bucs specifically held onto him without plans to use him because of Atlanta's need.
It's not necessarily a free agent question as it is a question of who could be had? Brohm might be a good selection int eh draft for the Pack - if he falls that far. But then again, giving Rodgers a shot is indeed something the Pack should look at. It's his job to win, though,. not "his job to lose" in this scenerio... Thus why we are talking about other QB;s to begin with.
