The Seahawks non-elected defensive players would miss their free trip to Hawai'i paid for by the players that were elected.
I'm guessing the answer is no.

I don't think they should get rid of it, mostly for the tradition of the experience for the coaching staffs and players to go to Hawaii for a week with their families. It's an honor for them and just getting named to the team would not have the same effect. I mean, I don't actively watch the game, but I don't think they should get rid of it.

By the way, this year had the highest TV ratings since 2000.
I don't know a single person who watched it.

Without a doubt the lamest of all the 'All-star' games. I get more excited for the exhibition 'Hall of Fame game' where first-string players play maybe one set of downs.
Football is a team sport. Pure and simple. You can't pair five linemen from five different teams and expect any kind of quality play. The Hockey all-star game has been superb in recent years. The Basketball all-star game is at least entertaining, while baseball is a Summer tradition and usually has a good storyline or two. |
