Default Hill to sign with Suns

From Rotoworld

Quote:
Grant Hill has agreed in principle to a two-year deal from the Phoenix Suns.

Hill's deal, known as a bi-annual exception, will pay him $1.8 million this season and almost $2 million in 2008-09 at the player's option. The deal will not be considered official until July 11, the first day free agents are allowed to officially sign new contracts. Hill also considered the Pistons, Heat, Mavs and Spurs but went with the Suns to hopefully win a championship. He'll have a vital role with the Suns and should battle Boris Diaw for the starting small forward job.
This was rumored for a couple of days now, I guess Grant really wanted a chance at a ring because he certainly could have gotten more money elsewhere.

Not sure how well he is going to fit in with the Suns, depending on how healthy his legs are but for the Suns its a low risk / high reward type of deal.

Yeah, this could be as good as the Celtics getting Walton back in the 80s, or it could just be another worn out player warming a bench.

If Hill can stay healthy, this will be a HUGE pick up for them.

If Hill had stayed healthy, he'd have been a legend. Now, he's a past-his-prime player with better than average skills, but little more.

Hill should be a valuable contributor, but not playing big minutes. Few teams have the luxury of a quality veteran presence on a team who is willing to accept a minimum salary and limited PT.

I hope he gets his ring.

I like Hill and hope he gets a ring because he seems like a great guy BUT when was the last time he stayed healthy ?

Maybe if he sticks to 25 -30 mins a game that could work

He would fill a similar role to what Stackhouse (just signed a 3 year deal to stay in Dallas) fills in Dallas.

I would like that role for him but there are reports that the Suns are going to start him
