Is Isiah Thomas seriously considering trading for Ron Artest?
Wow. I do not know what is more funnier: That Knicks fans think Ron Artest would be a good fit on a team with Starbury, Zach Randolph, and Eddy Curry... or that Knicks fan think they can get Artest for a package of Dan Dickau, Fred Jones, and Nate Robinson. This is the sequel to the Jail-Blazers waiting to happen. Oh well, at least in the long-run this would help the Knicks. The Knicks are the biggest soap opera in the NBA next year, Isiah Thomas gets run out of town and just maybe they suck enough to land a real PG -- Derrick Rose or OJ Mayo.

This is hilarious:

LOL! A PG that does not like to pass in Stephon Marbury, a Dennis Rodman clone in Ron Artest and Zach Randolph who has a criminal record and it seems easily influenced (Bonzi Wells, Rasheed Wallace, Damon Stoudamire and the rest of that crew was sure for him). Pure comedy. With Big Snacks Jerome James sleeping in team meetings the Knicks should be one hell of a train wreck to watch.

Stephon has went on record saying he knows he isnt going to be a scorer this year and he is fine with that, you guys are forgetting that he is 1 of only 2 PGs in NBA history to avg 20 points and 8 dimes for their career, they guy can still drop dimes when he wants too.
As for Artest, how does he not fit with the Knicks ? He is a SHUT DOWN defender and a threat from beyond the arch, something the team desperately needs. WE have no-1 that plays D on this team aside from Q and adding Artest instantly makes us a better Defensive team. Artest is a top 5 defender in the league IF NOT THE BEST. THe rumor that is going around is David Lee, Nate Robinson and Malik Rose ( expiring Deal ) for Artest I dont see why the Kings would not want to do that David is a HUGE piece, one that probaly 99 % of NBA team covet. Plus a big expiring contract, I dont see why the Kings would not do that deal. Artest does not want to be in Sacro, he has pubically said over the past year that he wants to play in NY after his contract is up. Its a good move and I hope it happens.

So is 90 % of our roster, what does 1 more matter ?
The guy is 1 of IF NOT the best defender in the league, ill take him on my roster anyday. Not to mention his offensive game has taken leaps and bounds over the past few years. Last year he put up 19 / 7 / 3 to go along with 2 steals a game, and a three a game He is a very good all around player

He definately seems to be trying his hardest to get that lable.
As for the Knicks aquiring Artest ... There are so many things good and bad with this possability. On one hand it would be by far the best team (talent wise) that Zeek has assembled. A front court of Curry, Randolph, and Artest is pretty freakin stout. Plus keep in mind that they play in the East so anything is possible. On the other hand ... it's a time bomb waiting to explode. It would be just a matter of time before it blows up in their faces (even if they're winning). Artest will find a way to mess everything up. From a basketball fans point of view I'd like to see it simply for the entertainment value. |

Please explain ?
He took the knicks from one of the oldest teams in the NBA when he took over and made them into a young team with tons of talent Who cares about the salary, the Knicks were NEVER going to be under the cap, even before Isiah took over.

Braves, you forget about Ronny's TO's, taking too many shots, and low FG%.
He wasn't happy sharing with Bibby, Martin, and Miller. Is Randolph, Crawford, Curry and Marbury going to be any better? It'll be worse. |

Ron avg'd 2 TOs a game last year......thats really not bad at all......
Look at the list of TO leaders in the NBA last year, its a list of all the good and great players in the game. Ron Artest wasnt happy in Sacro, period. He did not want to go there in the 1st place, he's wanted to play in NY his whole life. I am sure you have read the rumors that he has come out and said he is OPTing out of his deal at the end of the year and is going to sign with the Knicks anyway. So clearly he wants to come here and play. He knows the role that he is going to play here, so I doubt hes coming in thinking that he is going to come in and be the leading shot taker on this team.

04- Record was bad but we were coming off a playoff year under Isiah
05 - was the LB experiment, obviously it didnt work 06 - When everyone was healthy we were playing decent basketball and had the 7th seed at one point before the injuries hit us ------------ Does Isiah deserve blame, of course LB was turned out to be an awful hire but EVERY GM would have made the same hire, so I cant really fault him there. I dont know, you can call me a homer if you want....but any of my friends would you tell you I am the furthest thing from a homer but I really like what Isiah has done since he took over... Now it will be a wait and see approach if everyones ego can meche together but I like the talent assembled and for whatever reason people like to play for Isiah. This will be his second year as Head Coach and this team will be more talented than last years, I like my chances with it, especially if we get Artest.

Are you joking me BravesRule? I know the Knicks are your favorite team, but doen't it seem like they are getting tougher and tougher to defend?
Team chemistry is one of the biggest things in winning a basketball game. The Knicks are loaded with selfish, arrogant players who think they are stars. Adding Ron Artest would just continue that trend. The Knicks aquired troublemaker Zach Randolph for a center Channing Frye who had some potential. These troublemakers they bring in leave a bad reflection on the team and all the young players on it. Isiah Thomas like a lot of people in this thread says is absolutely ignorant. He must be reliving his "Bad Boy" Pistons days , oh wait the Pistons then didn't even have near the trouble today's Knicks have. For one thing they are not proven and haven't won anything in a long time....

Frye is a SOFT PF.....not a center, and Randolphs potential FAR, FAR outweighs Channings.
Zach Randolph was the ONLY PLAYER in the West to avg more than 23 points and 10 rebounds a game, and we got him for a injured Steve Francis and a bench player in Frye, give me a break........I do that deal every day of the week, without hesistation. There have been tons of teams that didnt get along and they still do well on the court / field / rink, what have you....I dont think there was a worse group of guys than the 1986 Mets and look what they did, they won a ring. Lets go over the starting 5 shall we Curry - FAR from selfish and far from a bad guy Randolph - Has gotten into trouble, only documented incident with a teammate was Ruben Patterson ( who is a charged SEX OFFENDER ) Read the reports and all his ex-teammates say he was a GREAT teammate and a better guy. He just hangs out with some not so good people. Why would all his teammates lie now that he is gone ? Artest - * Assuming he is there * Everyone knows his deal, but when he is on the court there are not alot of people that play harder than him, just watch the guy play and all he does is dive on the floor and hustle. Knock him off the court if you want but dont knock his play on it Crawford - Good guy, hasnt been in trouble Stephon - Never been in trouble off the court, has a bad rep for whatever reason even though he has never had a incident since his rookie days with KG ( They have since made up ) He has gone on record as saying he knows hes shots are going down and he is FINE with that. So for you guys to make it seem like this team is full of Thugs is beyond a lie. There is ONE current guy on the roster that has had trouble, and IF we get Artest thats 2.....there are plently of teams in the NBA with that many players who are considered " Bad Boys " For whatever reason people decide to pick on the Knicks and make it seem like they are worse than everyone else though
