Default Kevin Willis coming back too?

Just how thin is the available crop of free agent big men in the NBA? Consider this: The Dallas Mavericks will bring in 44-year-old center Kevin Willis for a workout Thursday. The Mavs are trying to see if the 20-year vet is a good fit for their open roster spot.

Willis has been retired since the 2004-05 season, when he averaged 3.0 points and 2.6 rebounds in 29 games with Atlanta.

The Mavericks do have that open roster spot, but I don't think Willis is the guy. I saw him on Pros vs. Joes and he looked out of shape and didn't perform to the best of his ability.

What's with all of these players and their comebacks? It seems like saying that you are coming out of retirement is the cool thing to do....

Good for Willis. He's 44 yearsold and still playing in the NBA.

I don't know if this really qualifies as a comeback. He's a 12th man on a deep team, and he's only missed one season (2005-06) since coming into the league in '85.
