Default Scottie Pippen coming back ?

Well if you listen to him, that appears to be the case...

From the Chicago Tribune :

Quote:
Scottie Pippen is contemplating a comeback, looking to sign with a contender in need of a backup point guard.

"I'm thinking of trying to come back for the playoffs," Pippen said. "Something like the last two months of the season, somewhere I can come back and play limited minutes to start, play point forward for someone and build toward the playoffs. It's something I've been thinking about for the last three months." Pippen turned 41 in September, but says he's in great shape. He's at his playing weight of 220 pounds and his body fat is at an all-time low of 5%. Teams like the Cavaliers, Suns and Heat could all benefit from another point guard for the playoffs, so don't be surprised if Pippen is back in the league soon.
I dont see how this could possibly end well. Scottie was pretty bad in his final years in Portland and then the Bulls and that was 3-4 years ago. Now he is 3-4 years older ( 41 yrs old ) and he wants to come back ??? Maybe a team will take a chance on him, but I doubt it

He has always been a Point Forward. He would handle the ball most of the time when on the Bulls......Think now like LeBron or Odom...both are SF's but both bring the ball up court and handle the ball a fairly large amount

The Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to take a hard look at Scottie Pippen, who wants to make a comeback. Pippen has said he prefers a warm-weather town, especially Miami, but playing for a contender is most important.

Pippen has watched the Cavs play and believes he can help as a ball-handler. One thing the Cavs might be able to offer him to sweeten the pot is a player/coach role, which would enable him to share his experience and give him a place to go without losing face if the comeback doesn't go well.
Dual role for Pippen in Cleveland? - Rumors - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

Interesting Pippen and Lebron on the same team? Scottie kind of bashed MJ by saying people would take him over MJ. Lebron and MJ have a connection again, interesting. I can't actually see Scottie headed to Cleveland though, too cold I guess.

Vladimir Radmanovic's absence from the Los Angeles Lakers lineup could cause the team to take a harder look at 41-year-old Scottie Pippen, who said he would like to come out of a three-year retirement.

Kobe Bryant has endorsed Pippen for consideration by the Lakers, although the former Chicago Bulls forward said he would prefer to play for the Miami Heat.
Lakers may take closer look at Pippen - Rumors - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

I could actually see Pippen coming to LA, reuniting with Phil and all that. Overall the Lakers are in need of a veteran leader, and Pip could fill that roll.

Who do you all think Scottie will play for if he comes back?

Rumors are that the Heat have no more interest in Pippen

If he comes back it will be for LA Lakers, IMO

Although I think Houston might be the best fit for him

The real reason Pippen coming back......in debt......?

Quote:
It was reported Thursday that the Missouri Court of Appeals has upheld a ruling from last year in St. Louis County in which a judge agreed that Pippen owed U.S. Bank about $5.021 million in principal, interest and attorney fees from a dispute over a private jet and company Pippen once owned.

Wow, no shocker. Its amazing how some of these athletes go so deeply in debt and make an attempt to come back when they are washed up. However I think Pippen could offer a team some game yet, and I'm suprised no one is jumping.

Quote:
Former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen completed a two-day business trip to Dallas on Tuesday without making any contact with the Dallas Mavericks in regards to a possible contract. Pippen, who wants to make a comeback, said that wasn't his intention.

"I did not come here to see the Mavs," Pippen said. "I came here to play golf. I'm on a business tour. And it's got nothing to do with basketball at all. At the rate they're playing, they can keep that (roster) spot. They can sign [owner] Mark Cuban to that spot. It's not like they need anything. They don't need me."

The season may be over before Pippen is signed, at this rate! I agree that the Mavs are doing fine and they definetly don't need him.

Like stated before why not the Lakers, he would reunite with Phil. However its unsure if the Lakers want him at this time, but I think he would be a good fit for them.
