Basically Chris Weber is going to retire from the NBA, and leave the Golden Warriors calling it quits.
His career averages were 20.7 ppg, 9.8 rpg, and 4.2 apg and he shot 47.9%. Chris Webber - Golden State Warriors - NBA - Yahoo! Sports Will that be good enough to get him in the Basketball Hall of Fame? I think that he was one of the most dominating players of his time and was always a forced to be reckoned with. However, he never did win an NBA title. So I honestly don't know if he qualifies for the HOF, and if I had to vote I would say NO.....

I'd have to agree...he's borderline. There were certainly many other great players who didn't win a championship, but they gave it their all when pressed (the Utah Jazz come to mind). Webber was a certifiable choker (and I don't use that term often) who could put up the points but never carried any of his teams the way they had all hoped.
A very good player in his time, certainly, but not a HOFer. But as a Warriors fan I have to give him credit for burying the hatchet with Nellie, and bowing out before he could hurt the team as the postseason nears. |

21 / 10 / 4 dimes from a PF, he would get my vote.
Granted he tailed off a great deal when he started breaking down towards the end of his career but his numbers speak for how good his career was. Dont think he is a first ballot or anything but I think he will surely get in

Unlike Cooperstown, Springfield takes just about anyone who was All-Star caliber for a 5 year window. The bar is set pretty low when guys like Joe Dumars get enshrined. So under current admissions practices, I'd say that Webber is a shoo-in for the Hall.
Going team by team, I think there are several current players who are near-automatics for the Hall of Fame even if they never played another game: Atlanta Hawks - no one. Boston Celtics - Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen. Charlotte Bobcats - no one. Cleveland Cavaliers - LeBron James. Dallas Mavericks - Jason Kidd, Dirk Nowitzki. Denver Nuggets - Allen Iverson. (Probably Carmelo Anthony in 2-3 years.) Detroit Pistons - no one. (Maybe Wallace and Billups in 2-3 years.) Golden State Warriors - no one. Houston Rockets - Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Dikembe Mutombo. Indiana Pacers - no one. Los Angeles Clippers - no one. Los Angeles Lakers - Kobe Bryant. Miami Heat - Dwayne Wade. Milwaukee Bucks - no one. (maybe Michael Redd eventually.) Minnesota Timberwolves - no one. New Jersey Nets - Vince Carter. New Orleans Hornets - no one (although Chris Paul will be listed in 3-4 years.) New York Knicks - no one. Oklahoma City - no one. Orlando Magic - no one (although Dwight Howard will be listed in 2-3 years.) Philadelphia 76ers - no one. Phoenix Suns - Shaquille O'Neal, Steve Nash, Grant Hill (Stoudamire soon.) Portland Trailblazers - no one. Sacramento Kings - no one. San Antonio Spurs - Tim Duncan (maybe Ginobili and Parker in 3-4 years.) Toronto Raptors - Jermaine O'Neal (although Chris Bosh will be added soon.) Utah Jazz - no one. (maybe Williams and Boozer eventually.) Washington Wizards - no one. (maybe Arenas in 3-4 years.)
