I'm just wondering what basketball fans feel about another team in Canada. Would you be in Favour or Against.
Could Toronto now have a Canadian Rivalry. Your decision.

Depends where would it go ?
We all saw what happened with the Grizz, they were not exactly supported up there. I just dont think that a basketball team can compete with all the hockey love and I think that having 1 team is probably enough and 2 would be asking for trouble, just cant see it doing well.

I think there is a city that could support Baskatball in Canada. What about Calgary where ther are so many people moving right now. Now thats a good posibility for an NBA franchise.

Waaaay tooo small. Vancouver barely had the population to support a team, and then they got hosed with that BRUTAL exapansion rule.

I said Calgary was becoming a huge city because everyone in Canada is heading out west. They would get fans in Calgary.
How big is Portland.

Know one can ever really prove that intill a franchise goes there. What i do know is that canadians do watch basketball and i'm sure its the same way in Calgary.

Most likely not but its also an option. Canada deserves a little respect.

Vancouver got a raw deal with the Grizzlies. Fan support in Vancouver wasn't any worse than what the franchise gets in Memphis. For most of its brief existence, Vancouver drew more fans than Atlanta, Charlotte and New Jersey. Imagine if the Grizzlies had actually been a half-decent team. They probably would have been middle of the pack in attendance.
Attendance in Vancouver, B.C: 1995-96: 17,183 1996-97: 16,571 1997-98: 16,109 1998-99: 16,719 1999-00: 13,899 2000-01: 13,737 Vancouver Grizzlies (1995 - 2000) Attendance by Year Attendance in Memphis: 2001-02 14,415 2002-03 14,983 2003-04 15,188 2004-05 16,862 2005-06 15,793 2006-07 14,675 I think Vancouver can support the NBA. Calgary and Montreal would both be bigger than some NBA cities but they lack the necessary history with the sport to adequately support it. Montreal, in particular, would not be a good fit given the cultural differences and the way baseball ended there. |

Ya it would probably not work in Montreal since hockey is so big over there. Though the Montreal alouettes do a pretty good job at atracting fans. The basketball history has to start somwhere so lets give it a try in Calagary and if not that give it another try in Vancouver like you said before.
