As of December 8th, the impressive rookie Alex Radulov has played in 15 games with the following stats:
TOTALS: 8 goals, 10 points, 19 shots on goal = 42.1% shooting percentage 3 gamewinning goals, 1 powerplay goal, +7 rating, 8 PIMs HOME: (5 Games played) 3 goals, 5 points, +5, 2 PIMs, 2 GWG, 0 PPG, 5 SOG ROAD: (10 Games played) 5 goals, 5 points, +2, 6 PIMs, 1 GWG, 1 PPG, 14 SOG I really think that Radu will overtake Marty Erat as the highest scoring Predators' rookie in franchise history. As a rookie in 01-02, Erat scored 9 goals & 33 points while playing in 80 games. No Predator has ever scored more than 31 goals (Sullivan & Kariya) or 85 points (Kariya) in a single regular season (while playing for the Preds). |

Radulov is playing very well for a rookie; but I am not sure if he's going to end up with 30 goals unless he starts getting more ice time. I think he'll break Erat's record no problem...but I' thinking closer to 40 points as where he'll likely end up. GO WILD!!!

Sharpshooter: Heading into Saturday's game against the San Jose Sharks, Predators rookie forward Alexander Radulov had scored his eight goals this season on just 19 shots, giving him a shooting percentage of 42.1 percent.
Radulov's shot total wasn't enough to qualify him for the league leaders, but he's likely to show up at the top of the charts — or at least very close to it — in the near future. Washington's Matt Pettinger, who'd scored nine goals on 35 shots (a 25.7 percent shooting percentage), led the league going into Saturday's contests. |

Preds' Radulov earns permanent job
http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=188097&hubname=nhl After two months of living in hotels, Alex Radulov can finally look for a more permanent place to sleep. The Nashville Predators have told the rookie winger to look for a place to live in the Music City because he's staying in the NHL. It took two successful stints in the American Hockey League and eight goals in his first 16 NHL games to convince them he belonged. Radulov never doubted it for a moment. |

A-Rad brings fire to the ice
Celebration of goals gets Preds' attention http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs....612140410/1028 When he scored his first NHL goal in October, Alexander Radulov launched himself into a plane of Plexiglas and dropped back to the ice shrieking. Six weeks later, he's still bouncing off the walls. As much as Radulov's teammates and Predators fans love his scoring — and he's already posted nine goals in just 17 games — they've become almost equally as entertained by watching the phenom celebrate afterward. Until very recently, when the Russian rookie was told by one veteran teammate to curb his enthusiasm a bit, he commemorated each goal like a kid who'd somehow found a way to combine Christmas morning with the last day of school. There's been no way to anticipate what the show might hold. One can almost always count on numerous left-handed fist pumps and a primal scream. Other options have included the high leg kick, the skate to the opposite end of the ice with teammates chasing behind — a la World Cup soccer, or the ever-popular leap into the boards. "It's like every goal is his first goal,'' Predators forward Scott Hartnell said. "His arms are going wild and even when he's by himself, it seems like he's giving high-fives to everyone because his hands are going crazy. "His facial expression is priceless, too. It's like he's a kid in a candy store. It's a lot of fun to watch and be around.'' |

Injury should not keep Radulov out
http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs....612180352/1028 Predators rookie Alexander Radulov has collected a lot of National Hockey League firsts this season — his first goal, his first assist, his first game-winner. On Sunday he experienced a first he probably would have rather done without — his first injury. The crafty right wing went down 4:32 into the first period after he was walloped by Blues right wing Dallas Drake. Radulov lost one of his gloves and his stick as he fell to the ice, where he remained for nearly a minute before being helped off. Predators Coach Barry Trotz said after the game it was an upper body injury. "I think he's fine. I don't think he is going to miss any time. More precautionary for him," Trotz said. Radulov has been one of the Nashville's most exciting players with 10 goals and three assists in 19 games. |

Funny little ditty about Radulov........
http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs....612200447/1028 Radulov can afford big house On the ice, it doesn't matter whether the kid is in Moscow or Nashville. The puck touches Alexander Radulov's stick and he puts it in the net. It's that simple. House hunting, however, is a different story, as well you might expect for a 20-year-old Russian native spending his first year in the U.S. So when the Predators recently informed their rookie-of-the-year candidate he'd likely be staying on the NHL level for the remainder of this season — as opposed to returning to the minors — it created quite a challenge. |

Wes Goldstein: Everyone knows about Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin, who is this year's version of the dominant first-year player a la Sidney Crosby/Alexander Ovechkin. Anze Kopitar of the Kings is making the most of playing in Tinseltown by taking on a starring role on the ice. Beyond them, a pretty good freshman class is flying largely under the league-wide radar. There has been a bit of spotlight at times focused on San Jose defensemen Matt Carle and Marc-Edouard Vlasic and forward Joe Pavelski and on Colorado's Paul Stastny and Wojtek Wolski. One of the most exciting new young talents is a kid in Nashville who seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle. That's because Alexander Radulov had trouble sticking with a very deep Predators team earlier in the season. Nashville wanted him playing in the minors instead of sitting on their bench, but Radulov has been up a few times and has scored 10 goals in just 20 games while converting 40 percent of his shots. He's an exciting player whose exuberance thrills Nashville fans as much as it irritates opponents, and he's there to stay. Greg Cimilluca: Once again the NHL's newest have come out to shine this year as they did last. While Evgeni Malkin and others are making the headlines, one guy I think has been overlooked is Alexander Radulov in Nashville. Perhaps it is the two stints Radulov has spent in the AHL that has made the highly touted Predators youngster lurk below the radar. While he did not start out the season in the NHL and was sent down after his first call up, his production while with the big club can not be ignored. Having only played 20 games (compared to rookie leaders averaging around 10 more games), he has made the most of the ice time he has had (which has also been minimal in comparison). With 10 goals, he ranks third among all rookies and leads his fellow first-year players in shooting percentage at an astounding 40 percent. He has also been clutch with a team- and rookie-leading three game-winning goals. He has definitely made the most of his time in the NHL and has proven he deserves more than the eight-plus minutes a night he has been getting. |

Never hurts to have another scorer on the team...it can only make things more difficult for the opposition...

A-Rad dad: Alexander Radulov's father was in the stands on Thursday night, watching his son play in the NHL for the first time. After a long trip from his native Russia, Valery Radulov arrived in Nashville about 8:30 p.m. and was shuttled to the Gaylord Entertainment Center to catch the end of game. He is expected to stay with his son, and could be here several months. "Every young boy who dreams of playing in the National Hockey League, that first game live when your dad's there is a special thing," Trotz said. Radulov, who hadn't seen his father since this summer, said he tried not to think about having his dad in the stands. "I am excited to see my dad," Radulov said. "But it's normal. I just want to win the game, maybe score or get an assist." Searching for shots: One of the most impressive statistics regarding Radulov is that heading into Thursday's game, he'd scored his 10 goals on just 25 shots. Shots, however, had been hard to come by for the rookie in recent games. He'd gone without a shot for three straight contests prior to Thursday, though he was limited to just 47 seconds of ice time in one of those games after taking a hard hit. Against the Sabres Radulov took three shots but did not score, bringing his shooting percentage to 35.7. The mark would put him in the league lead among rookies, but he is currently not on the list because he has not taken enough total shots this season. |

A-Rad delivers Preds - Nashville, Tennessee - Wednesday, 12/27/06 - Tennessean.com
When Coach Barry Trotz chooses which skaters to send out for a shootout, he looks for one important quality: composure. So it was no surprise to see veterans Steve Sullivan, Paul Kariya and Martin Erat take the Predators' first three attempts against St. Louis on Tuesday. Trotz's fourth selection? A 20 year-old rookie. But Alexander Radulov proved once again that he's no ordinary youngster, as he connected on the game-winning shootout goal in the Predators' 3-2 victory over St. Louis. Radulov faked to his forehand, then lifted a backhand shot over goalie Manny Legace's glove. It was the only shootout goal in the teams' combined eight attempts, as Chris Mason and Legace had combined for seven saves up that point. "In a shootout you have to have a little composure,'' Trotz said. "Guys like Sully and P.K. have that ice in their veins, and I think this kid does, too. I had a feeling … so I said, 'What the heck?''' The first shootout goal of Radulov's young career gave the Predators (25-9-3) their 12th straight win over St. Louis, and their seventh win in eight games overall. |

Radulov tallies:
Predators rookie Alexander Radulov snapped his seven-game scoring drought on Monday, when he netted his 11th goal of the season during a Nashville power play. Radulov swatted at a rebound near the Colorado net and bounced a shot off Avs defenseman Brett Clark. "It doesn't matter,'' Radulov said. "I'm happy to score, but if the team is winning it is better.'' |

Up and down:
Trotz praised the scrappy play of forward Jordin Tootoo while suggesting rookie Alexander Radulov might have been a bit overwhelmed by the Ducks. Radulov played just 1:16 in the third period and finished minus-two with one shot. Tootoo logged more than half of his 6:20 in the third after a first-period fight landed him a five-minute fighting major. "They've got to have impact on the game and I thought Toots had some impact," Trotz said. "… Radulov turned too many pucks over against a team you cannot turn pucks over (against). "I thought he was struggling with a little bit of the speed. On the fourth goal, he didn't hold position and they ended up getting a four-on-three." |

Star a scratch:
On the same day that Alexander Radulov was named to the Young Stars roster as part of the upcoming All-Star festivities in Dallas, the Predators rookie was a healthy scratch against Columbus. Trotz said he felt it was important to get Nichol in the game and he did not want to sacrifice any of his penalty killers as a scratch. "I think (Radulov) could be a little better in his overall game," Trotz said. "He's not playing poorly, but we knew we were going to get their A-game and were going to have to grind it out so I made sure that we had more of the penalty killers, the grinders, in." Radulov played 25 straight games before Saturday, collecting 18 points. Also on the bench was Darcy Hordichuk, who was a scratch for the third time in the last six games. |
