Another successful trip to Grand Rapids
Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Milwaukee Admirals should consider moving all their games to Van Andel Arena. The Admirals cruised to a 6-3 victory over the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday to win for the sixth consecutive time on the Griffins' home ice. Only two other opponents have won six in a row in Grand Rapids. The Detroit Vipers of the IHL also won six straight there and the Chicago Wolves won seven consecutive games in Grand Rapids in 2004. The Admirals have outscored the Griffins, 28-10, during the six straight games Milwaukee has won in Grand Rapids. Milwaukee also rebounded from its 2-1 shootout loss to the Griffins at the Bradley Center on Wednesday. JSONLINE |

Griffins fall apart against Milwaukee
GRAND RAPIDS -- One-third through a mediocre season, Grand Rapids Griffins coach Greg Ireland has seen enough. He took the Griffins to task Friday night after a sloppy, turnover-filled second period led to a 6-3 victory for the Milwaukee Admirals at Van Andel Arena. Grand Rapids dropped to .500 at 12-12-2-2. "We're 28 games in and flirting with .500," Ireland said. "We're good one period, we're not good the next period. ... That's just not good enough for who we are. "As a team, it's about time we stepped up and took ownership in what this team has to be. Guys can pretend all they want. Enough is enough. If guys are happy with that and content with that, they're in the wrong organization. "On paper, we're a much better team. It's not about Xs and Os. The bottom line is, guys have to come in here and compete. They don't want to compete 100 percent. They want everything handed to them. That's not how things get done in this league." JSONLINE |

Goehring the key to shootout victory
Rosemont. Ill. - Goaltender Karl Goehring stopped all four shooters he faced in a shootout as the Milwaukee Admirals defeated the Chicago Wolves, 3-2, Saturday night in an American Hockey League game. Admirals forwards Rich Peverley and Brandon Segal each scored against the Wolves' Fred Brathwaite in the shootout. "Every time we play these guys its tooth and nail, it makes things exciting," Wolves coach John Anderson said. Goehring (8-6-2) recorded 35 saves and became just the third goalie to hold Chicago to only two goals in a game this year. Segal and Peverley also scored in regulation to help snap Chicago's four-game home winning streak. JSONLINE |

Wolves’ offense stumbles
A night after everything seemed to find the net, the Chicago Wolves experienced an evening when the net didn’t even seem to exist. Following their 9-goal performance Friday night in their 9-1 win over the Omaha Knights, the Wolves connected only twice on 37 shots, missed all four of their shootout opportunities and ended up falling to the Milwaukee Admirals 3-2 at the Allstate Arena on Saturday night.
