Default Durno shifts it into high gear

Quote:
Milwaukee Admirals coach Claude Noel didn't like the way Chris Durno skated his first shift against the Peoria Rivermen, and he told him so.

"He had a poor shift and I told him very gently that if he had any more shifts like that he won't be getting a whole lot of minutes," Noel said.

Message received, big time.

Apparently Noel knows what buttons to push because Durno scored the Admirals' first three goals in their 4-3 victory over the Rivermen on Friday night at the Bradley Center. Durno, who had just seven goals and two assists in 40 games this season, assisted in the winning goal by Sheldon Brookbank as the Admirals held off the feisty Rivermen, who are hot on the Admirals' trail in American Hockey League's West Division.

Default Milwaukee sails past Rivermen

Quote:
MILWAUKEE - The Peoria Rivermen tried to beat the Milwaukee Admirals with one hand tied behind their backs.

Instead, Milwaukee's Chris Durno beat the Rivermen singlehandedly, notching a hat trick Friday to help the Admirals win, 4-3, before 10,205 at Bradley Center.

Default Admirals Down Peoria 4-3

Quote:
Milwaukee,WI-Over ten thousand fans turned out for the Milwaukee Admirals Country Music Night, and while everyone was treated to a free Joe Nichols concert courtesy of Miller Lite and FM 106, the opening act headlined by Chris Durno got the fans out of their seats a little early. Dunro recorded a hat trick and an assist, scoring on all of Milwaukee's goals in the team's 4-3 victory over the Peoria Rivermen.

Default Preview: Admirals @ Stars

Quote:
About the Admirals: The Admirals are starting to look like a shoo-in for the playoffs, which seem light-years away in April. But their play has been spotty at best. After their 2-1 overtime loss to Iowa on Wednesday night, coach Claude Noel said of his team, "We are an accident waiting to happen." How inconsistent are the Admirals? They have alternated between winning and losing in their last nine games.

About the Stars: To say the Admirals owe one to the Stars would be a gross understatement. Iowa is 7-0 against Milwaukee this season, including a 2-1 overtime victory Wednesday night at the Bradley Center.

Default Second-period burst carries Stars to rare home win

Quote:
Iowa wins first home game since Feb. 3, runs record to 8-0 against Milwaukee.
The second period turned into a breakthrough instead of a breaking point for the Iowa Stars tonight.

Stars coach Dave Allison stressed the importance of the middle session after he felt his team had lost momentum in the period the past two games.

The Stars responded with a four-goal outburst in a 6-2 American Hockey League win over the Milwaukee Admirals at Wells Fargo Arena.

It was the Stars’ first win on home ice since Feb. 3 and improved Iowa’s points streak to three games in front of an announced crowd of 6,768.
