Default Corbeil caps 'hat trick' series

Quote:
Houston, you have a problem and his name is Nicolas Corbeil.

Corbeil capped off the Milwaukee Admirals' "Hat Trick Weekend" - an unprecedented three games in three days at the Bradley Center - with, of all things, a three-goal performance as the Admirals bounced his old team, the Houston Aeros, 4-3.

Corbeil, who has played just eight games since being called up by the Admirals from Rockford, has scored five of his six goals this season in two games against Houston. And make no mistake, as far as Corbeil is concerned, it is extremely personal and satisfying.

Default Daum, Aeros suffer another 1-goal loss

Quote:
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Admirals forward Nicolas Corbeil can do little wrong against the Aeros.

In his second straight game against them, Corbeil recorded a multi-goal game, this time a hat trick, to lead Milwaukee to a 4-3 win in front of an announced crowd of 3,715 at Bradley Center. Corbeil scored twice in the second period and finished the hat trick in the third, leading the Admirals to their first regulation win over the Aeros this season.

Bracken Kearns has two dreams. Call them his winter dream and his summer dream. His winter dream would be to follow in the footsteps of his father, Dennis Kearns, who played for 10 seasons and 670 games for the Vancouver Canucks. He is currently pursuing that dream with the Milwaukee Admirals, one step away from the National Hockey League.

His summer dream is to tee it up on a professional golfing tour. He is much closer to achieving his winter dream but at one point while growing up in Vancouver, he appeared to be well on his way to being Canada's next Mike Weir.

Default Seven up, seven down against Iowa

Quote:
The Iowa Stars' mastery over the Milwaukee Admirals this season is one of those weird, inexplicable situations that occur in sports from time to time.

The Stars, who occupy fifth place in the AHL's West Division with a 26-24-2-1 record, beat the Admirals for the seventh time in seven tries this season Wednesday night at the Bradley Center. Mark Ardelan's goal at 1:47 of overtime was the difference as the Stars came away with a 2-1 victory.

The only question that remained afterward was why the Admirals can't beat this team. After all, Milwaukee is two spots ahead of the Stars in the West standings with a 26-19-4-6 record.

Milwaukee, Wis. - There's something about the Milwaukee Admirals that brings out the best in the Iowa Stars.

Defenseman Mark Ardelan scored off a rebound in overtime Wednesday night to help Iowa improve to 7-0 this season vs. the Admirals with a 2-1 win at the Bradley Center.

Default Admirals Fall to Iowa in Overtime

Quote:
Milwaukee, WI-Valentine's Day or not, the Milwaukee Admirals have no love for the Iowa Stars as the team has defeated them in all six of their previous meetings this season. Despite desperately seeking their first win against the Stars since knocking them out of last year's Calder Cup playoffs, the Stars played heartbreaker to the Ads again-this time with a 2-1 win over the black and ice blue in overtime.

Default Preview: Rivermen @ Admirals

Quote:
About the Admirals: The Admirals are starting to look like a shoo-in for the playoffs, which seem light-years away in April. But their play has been spotty at best. After their 2-1 overtime loss to Iowa on Wednesday night, coach Claude Noel said of his team, "We are an accident waiting to happen." How inconsistent are the Admirals? They have alternated between winning and losing in their last nine games.

About the Rivermen: The Admirals have had good luck against Peoria this season, winning four of their five meetings, including a 3-2 decision in their last meeting, Jan. 30 in Milwaukee.

Default Affiliation deal extended

Quote:
The Milwaukee Admirals announced Thursday that their contract to continue as the Nashville Predators' top developmental affiliate would be extended for three seasons, running through the 2009-'10 season.

Since the relationship between the two teams began for the 1998-'99 season, a total of 82 players have suited up for both organizations. Among current Nashville players, Chris Mason, Dan Hamhuis, Kimmo Timmonen, Ryan Suter, Jordin Tootoo, Vern Fiddler and Greg Zanon have played for the Admirals.

"We are in first place in the NHL right now and that would not be possible without a complete organization," said Michael Santos, Nashville's director of hockey operations, at a Bradley Center news conference Thursday.
