Default Brookbank Recalled by Nashville

Quote:
Nashville, Tenn.- Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Sheldon Brookbank from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Brookbank leads AHL defensemen in scoring with 36 points (9g-27a) in 51 games this season and has posted 110 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 200-pound blueliner, who was a member of the Canadian team at the 2007 AHL All-Star Game last week, led the Admirals in penalty minutes (232) and ranked second among team backliners in scoring (9g-26a-35pts) in 2005-06. The Lanigan, Sask. native was originally signed as a free agent by Nashville on August 4, 2005.

Default Admirals See Bump in Attendance

Quote:
Milwaukee, WI-Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that after 21 home games so far this season the team's attendance is up over 23 percent over the same number of games during the 2005-06 season, the first under new ownership.

Just over half way through their home schedule the Admirals have drawn 112,588 fans for an average of 5,361 per game. That total places them 11th in the American Hockey League in average attendance. If the team were to maintain their average for the rest of the season it would their highest total since the 2001-02 campaign, their first in the AHL. Through 21 games in 2005-06 the team had drawn 91,397 fans or 4,352 per game.

Default It's a Hat Trick Weekend with the Admirals

Quote:
Milwaukee, WI--Be part of history this weekend as the Admirals will host three games in three days for the first time in franchise history. To make the games even better, there will be a different giveaway promotion for each game!

The fun starts on Friday night at 7:00 pm when the Ads do battle with the San Antonio Rampage. It is the first ever black-out night where the first 5,000 fans will receive a black t-shirt, courtesy of Jockey and OnMilwaukee.com, to create black-out conditions at the BC.

Admirals made it two out of three at home on the weekend, winning 4-3 over the Houston Aeros.

Getting the Hat Trick was newcomer Nicolas Corbeil. He scored the first three goals for the Ads on Sunday, and Chris Durno added what turned out to be the gamer in the third.

Captain Sheldon Brookbank was back from his brief stint in Nashville, and contributed with two assists.

The Ads also skated with Preston Mizzi and Robin Big Snake, callups from Rockford of the UHL.

Pekka Rinne was in good form, saving 35 shots.

Default Hockey: Rampage 5, Milwaukee 3

Quote:
The Rampage scored three third-period goals to even their rodeo road trip record at 4-4-0-1.

Randell Gelech jammed home a rebound early in the third period to snap a 2-2 tie. Then, 43 seconds later, Jeff Ferraro scored off an Admirals turnover to give the Rampage a two-goal lead.

Default Defensive lapses costly

Quote:
With an unprecedented three-game set featuring visits by the two tail-end teams of the West Division, the weekend had opportunity written all over it for the Milwaukee Admirals.

But with fifth-place Houston visiting at 4 p.m. today, all the Admirals have to show for their efforts so far is a 3-2 shootout victory over last-place San Antonio on Friday night. The Rampage threw a wrench in the Admirals' party plans with a 5-3 triumph Saturday afternoon at the Bradley Center.

Admirals coach Claude Noel didn't have to see the tape of the game to figure out how things unraveled for his squad in the third period. It was three mistakes, committed by his top two defensemen, that turned a 2-2 deadlock after two periods into a 5-3 rout.

Default Preview: Aeros at Admirals

Quote:
About the Admirals: The never-ending shakeups with the Nashville Predators have filtered down to the Admirals again as Milwaukee's best defenseman, AHL all-star Sheldon Brookbank, has been called up. Brookbank was the AHL's top scoring defenseman with 36 points (9 goals, 27 assists).

About the Aeros: The Aeros come to town to play a rare third game in three days at the Bradley Center. The game was originally scheduled for Feb. 28 but was moved to Sunday because of a concert scheduling conflict.
