About the Admirals: The Admirals' roster took a big hit over the all-star break as defenseman Kevin Klein and forwards Alexander Radulov and Scottie Upshall were recalled by the Nashville Predators. Radulov and Upshall were both recalled after doing very brief rehabilitation stints. Milwaukee has added forward Nicolas Corbeil from the Rockford IceHogs. Corbeil has 37 points (17 goals and 20 assists). In their last outing before the break, the Admirals beat the Peoria Rivermen, 3-2, as Pekka Rinne made 32 saves.

About the Aeros: The Aeros went to the break following a 3-2 loss to the Manchester Monarchs. It was the Aeros' third consecutive 3-2 loss and the seventh straight game they lost by one goal.

The Milwaukee Admirals failed to hold a 2-1 lead and lost to the Aeros, 3-2, in a shoot-out this afternoon in Houston.

Roman Voloshenko and Shawn Belle each scored in the shoot-out for Houston.

The game featured 98 penalty minutes on 35 infractions by both teams. However, the teams combined to go 1-20 on the power-play opportunities, including 1-13 for the Admirals.

Houston - The Milwaukee Admirals came up scoreless in the shootout and lost to Houston, 3-2, in an American Hockey League game Tuesday afternoon.

Roman Voloshenko and Shawn Belle each scored in the shootout for Houston.

Neither team scored in the first period, which was marred by penalties.

The teams combined for 74 penalty minutes in the first period.

With 6,000 schoolchildren in attendance to see the Aeros' matinee against the Milwaukee Admirals on Thursday, it's safe to say there was an abundance of energy at Toyota Center.

The venue was as loud as ever when the two teams got together for the 11 a.m. Houston Chronicle in Education First Flight Field Trip.

And it helped.

The lively atmosphere lifted the Aeros to a 3-2 shootout victory over Milwaukee. It was the Aeros' first win in five games and helped them back to the .500 mark on home ice (10-10-1-3) in front of a total crowd of 8,150.

Roman Voloshenko and Shawn Belle each scored in the shoot-out for Houston, as Admirals couldn't hold a 2-1 lead and fell to the Aeros 3-2 Thursday afternoon in a kid's day game at the Toyota Center in Houston.

After a scoreless first period the Aeros got first blood when Voloshenko picked up his ninth goal of the season at the 6:10 mark of the second. However, Chris Durno, playing in his first game this season for the Admirals since being acquired in a trade last week, tied the score at one just 32 seconds into the third during a five-on-three advantage for Milwaukee.

Milwaukee, WI-The Admirals start the unofficial start to the second half of their season this week, beginning with a home-and-home set with the Houston Aeros this Thursday and Friday. Thursday's game is the second consecutive year the Ads will play in Houston when the Aeros host their annual Kids Day game, which beings promptly at 11:00 am.
