Default No rest for the weary

Quote:
The American Hockey League schedule for the Milwaukee Admirals has been strange all season.

Milwaukee started the season playing just five games in October.

Then there was the 10-game trip for the Admirals in November and December.

And on Thursday, Milwaukee played its sixth game in seven days, including its third straight game in three different cities.

Default Join a Country Music Double-Header Tomorrow with the Admirals

Quote:
Milwaukee, WI-For many years the Admirals have entertained fans with pre- and post-game concerts that are free with their ticket to the game. This weekend, the team will do something that that they have never done before. Instead of just one major act, the Admirals will have two national recording artists perform prior to Saturday night's 7:30 pm game with the Peoria Rivermen.

It all stars at 5:00 pm when Emerson Drive will perform for approximately 50 minutes before The Wreckers hit the stage at 6:00 pm. Following the two shows, the Admirals will do battle with the Rivermen at 7:30 pm, as was originally scheduled. Doors to the Bradley Center will open at 4:30 pm.

Default Klein Recalled, Durno returns

Quote:
Nashville, TN - Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Kevin Klein from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. The club has also acquired forward Chris Durno from the Anaheim Ducks for forward Shane Endicott.

Klein has 14 points (4g-10a) and 45 penalty minutes in 44 games with Milwaukee this season. The 6-1, 195-pound defenseman has appeared in one game with Nashville this season and skated in two contests with the Predators in 2005-06. The Kitchener, Ont. native led Admirals' defensemen in scoring (10g-33a-43pt) and ranked 13th among AHL backliners in points last season. Klein was originally Nashville's third choice, 37th overall (second round), in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Preview: Peoria Rivermen vs. Admirals

Quote:
About the Admirals: The Admirals limp into the all-star break on a two-game losing streak and having lost three of their last four outings. The break is much needed for the Admirals, who Thursday night lost to Iowa, 1-0, in their sixth game in seven nights. Two Admirals defensemen, Ville Koistinen and Sheldon Brookbank, will participate in the two-day Toronto all-star event, which begins Sunday. The game tonight features performances by country bands Emerson Drive and The Wreckers, beginning at 5 p.m. It is also Admirals Mug Night.

About the Rivermen: The Rivermen are one West Division team that has not had its way with the Admirals this season. The Admirals have won four of five meetings with Peoria, including a 3-2 victory in the teams' last meeting Jan. 13 in Milwaukee. Peoria goalie Marek Schwarz will also participate in the All-Star Game.

Default Milwaukee takes positive step

Quote:
The Milwaukee Admirals' 3-2 victory over the Peoria Rivermen at the Bradley Center on Saturday night hardly qualifies them for juggernaut status, but call their improvement "baby steps."

After being shut out, 1-0, in their last outing Thursday night by the Iowa Stars, the three goals were a virtual offensive explosion. Cal O'Reilly scored the winning goal at 4 minutes 50 seconds of the third period on a tip of a missed shot by defenseman Ville Koistinen, who left for Toronto and the AHL All-Star Game immediately after the game.

Rich Peverley's second goal of the contest on a rebound from point-blank range at 15:47 of the final period gave the Admirals a needed insurance goal. Konstantin Zakharov's goal at 17:32 of the period made it interesting to the final buzzer.

Default Admirals Down Peoria 3-2

Quote:
Milwaukee, WI - The Peoria Rivermen continues to struggle, as they lost their fifth game in six contests, stumbling to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Milwaukee Admirals Saturday night in front of 10,579 at the Bradley Center.

It was the second night in a row in which the Rivermen lost after striking first. Prior to Friday's game against Iowa, in which Peoria fell 2-1 after taking a 1-0 advantage in the first period, the Rivermen had a record of 14-2-1-1 when opening the scoring.

Scottie Upshall was recalled from the minor leagues on Sunday.

Upshall missed 28 games with torn groin. He collected only one assist in five games with Milwaukee of the AHL. It is unclear whether he will make it into their active lineup immediately.

Default Missed opportunities are costly to Rivermen in setback

Quote:
MILWAUKEE - A fluke goal and missed opportunities kept the Peoria Rivermen on the wrong side of the win-loss column Saturday night against the Milwaukee Admirals.

The 3-2 loss in front of 10,579 at the Bradley Center was the third in a row for the Rivermen against the Admirals.
