Default Preview: Admirals vs. Aeros

Quote:
About the Admirals: Rich Peverley, who leads the team in goals (17), assists (28), points (45) and plus / minus (+12) is gone. He signed a two-year contract with the Nashville Predators earlier this week. The Admirals have won four of their last five games to climb into a tie for third place in the West Division of the Western Conference with the Peoria Rivermen. On the plus side, Scottie Upshall has rejoined the team on a rehabilitation assignment from the Predators. Also, Pekka Rinne, the team's goalie during last year's playoff drive, is expected to be in uniform for the weekend games.

About the Aeros: The Admirals make their first visit of the season to Houston to play the West Division rival Aeros. In the teams' only previous meeting, Houston prevailed, 4-2, in Milwaukee on Nov. 15. Josh Harding is the AHL's 12th-ranked goalie, with a 2.50 goals per game average and 92.0% saves percentage.

Default Things fall apart quickly

Quote:
Houston - The Milwaukee Admirals got off to a great start on Sunday.

But it all went downhill soon thereafter in a 6-1 loss to the Houston Aeros.

The Admirals scored first, getting a goal from Kelsey Wilson off assists from Brandon Segal and Bracken Kearns at the 7:03 mark of the first period.

Default Aeros get big break with Wild additions

Quote:
Thanks to the NHL All-Star break, the Aeros got a present from the Minnesota Wild.

Well, three of them, actually.

With the NHL taking a few days to prepare for the midseason exhibition, the Aeros received Shawn Belle, Erik Reitz and Joel Ward from their NHL parent team just in time for Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Admirals.

All three of them paid dividends as the Aeros unleashed a rare offensive explosion with a 6-1 win in front of 6,336 at Toyota Center.

Admirals on the power play 17 seconds in. Holding on Houston followed by an unsportsmanlike conduct.

Default Preview: Admirals Vs. Aeros

Quote:
About the Admirals: The Admirals are in the throes of one of their busiest weeks of the season, playing seven games in nine days leading up to the AHL's All-Star Game on Monday night in Toronto. Milwaukee will play Houston for the second time in three nights in search of its first victory against the Aeros this season. The Admirals find themselves tied for third in the West Division with Peoria with 49 points. Rich Peverley is 11th in AHL scoring with 47 points: 18 goals and 29 assists. Admirals goalie Karl Goehring took Friday night off, when Pekka Rinne returned from the disabled list. It was Goehring's first night off since Nov. 26, a span of 23 games, 22 of which he started.

About the Aeros: With their 6-1 drubbing of the Admirals on Sunday night, the Aeros enjoy a 2-0 season series edge. They also beat the Admirals, 4-2, Nov. 15 in Milwaukee.
