Default For Rinne, it's no day at beach

Quote:
So, Pekka Rinne, how does it feel to be back in the nets for the Milwaukee Admirals?

In a word . . . painful. In two words . . . very painful.

Admirals coach Claude Noel had said he didn't expect Rinne to pick up where he left off last spring as the linchpin of the team's march to the Calder Cup Finals. But it's doubtful Noel expected Rinne to find himself at the bottom of an avalanche of first-period goals by the Rochester Americans, either.

The Americans pummeled Rinne in the first period, scoring four goals and coasting to a 4-1 victory Friday at the Bradley Center. It was the first time in almost a month that the Admirals, who slipped to 20-15-3-4, lost a game by more than one goal.

Default Rinne's Return Spoiled by Rochester

Quote:
Milwaukee, WI-The excitement surrounding the return of Pekka Rinne faded quickly as the Milwaukee Admirals struggled to keep up with the Rochester Americans in the first period. Rochester scored all four of their goals in the opening session, and the Ads were unable to recover in the 4-1 loss.

Default Swanson's hit sparks Amerks to win

Quote:
(January 20, 2007) — Rochester Americans defenseman Jeremy Swanson recorded no points in Friday's 4-1 victory over the Milwaukee Admirals.

He didn't figure in first-period goals by Marek Zagrapan, David Brine, Mark Mancari and Brandon Smith as the Amerks vaulted to a 4-0 lead.

Why, the only goal he was on the ice for was scored on a power play by Milwaukee's Ramzi Abid.

Default Preview: Admirals vs. Marlies

Quote:
About the Admirals: Rich Peverley, who leads the team in goals (17), assists (28), points (45) and plus / minus (+12) is gone. He signed a two-year contract with the Nashville Predators earlier this week. The Admirals have won four of their last five games to climb into a tie for third place in the West Division of the Western Conference with the Peoria Rivermen. On the plus side, Scottie Upshall has rejoined the team on a rehabilitation assignment from the Predators. Also, Pekka Rinne, the team's goalie during last year's playoff drive, is expected to be in uniform for the weekend games.

About the Marlies: These teams already have met twice, with the Admirals winning both encounters. The Marlies visited Milwaukee last Sunday. Both teams came into the game after a grueling weekend of travel and the Admirals prevailed, 1-0. Erik Westrum leads the Marlies with 44 points.

Default Guerriero Lifts Admirals over Toronto

Quote:
Milwaukee, WI-Led by a 29-save performance by goaltender Karl Goehring and a Jason Guerriero goal with just 35 seconds to play, the Milwaukee Admirals knocked off a pesky Toronto Marlies squad 3-2 at the Bradley Center.

The Ads were coming off back to back games of poor showings in the opening period. In their first game of the week, Milwaukee was only able to put one shot on the Marlies in the opening twenty minutes, while in Friday night's contest, they allowed four goals against Rochester in the first period.
