Default Milwaukee rallies to win

Quote:
San Antonio - The Milwaukee Admirals scored three goals in the third period to rally for a 4-2 victory over the San Antonio Rampage on Wednesday.

The Admirals struck first on Jason Guerriero's ninth goal of the season at 18 minutes 47 seconds into the first period.

But the second period was all San Antonio, which scored twice in the period to take the lead.

The third period was scoreless for 12:36 until Ramzi Abid scored the equalizer off an assist from Sheldon Brookbank and Rich Peverly.

The Admirals took the lead for good just over 5 minutes later when Brookbank scored his eighth goal of the season.

Default Hockey: Coach rips Rampage after third-period meltdown

Quote:
Losing is starting to take its toll on Rampage coach Pat Conacher.
After watching another third-period meltdown — this time in Milwaukee's 4-2 victory Wednesday — Conacher lambasted his players for what he called a continual lack of effort on the ice.

The Admirals scored three goals in the third period to hand the Rampage — who led 2-1 entering the third — their second-straight defeat before a crowd of 2,696 at the AT&T Center.

Default Admirals fall in shootout

Quote:
San Antonio - The Milwaukee Admirals dug themselves a hole they couldn't quite get out of on Friday night.

The Admirals rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force overtime but fell in a shootout to the last-place San Antonio Rampage.

The game started as a defensive struggle with neither team scoring in the first period but the pace picked up in the second period.

Default Hockey: Rampage save face with shootout win

Quote:
Maybe the Rampage still have some life left after all.
Two nights after coach Pat Conacher called out his players for lacking effort in a third-period meltdown against Milwaukee, the Rampage got revenge Friday with a 3-2 shootout victory over the Admirals.

Joel Perrault and Jeff Taffe each scored in the shootout, while Rampage goaltender David LeNeveu saved four of five shots in front of 5,426 fans at the AT&T Center.

"In one way or another, we heard (Conacher's) comments at practice the next day," said Taffe, who netted the decisive goal in the shootout. "It was a tough skate. It was a wakeup call that if we don't play 100 percent, we're not that good of a team. We had to look at each other in the room and figure out what we wanted to do."

On Wednesday, Milwaukee (18-14-3-4) scored three goals in the third to defeat the Rampage 4-2. Afterward, Conacher said he would "love to get rid of the seven or 10 guys" that weren't giving their all.

Default Preview: Admirals vs. Rivermen

Quote:
About the Admirals: The Admirals hit the road for three games after a satisfying 4-2 victory over first-place Chicago on Saturday at the Bradley Center. The AHL announced Tuesday that Admirals defensemen Sheldon Brookbank and Ville Koistinen had been selected to play in the AHL All-Star Classic, Jan. 28 and 29 at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto. Brookbank, the Admirals' captain, is second among AHL defensemen in scoring and third on the Admirals with 25 points (seven goals and 18 assists). Koistinen, a native of Oulu, Finland, has 17 points (five goals and 12 assists) in his first season in the AHL.

About the Rivermen: Peoria sits in third place in the Western Division with 43 points, but the Admirals, who are in fifth place, are just three points behind. Rivermen goalie Marek Schwartz ranks 14th in the AHL, allowing 2.59 goals per game.
