Preview: Admirals vs. Knights
About the Admirals: Milwaukee had a good December, going 9-2-1-3. The Admirals are 1-4 against the Knights this season, splitting a pair of 3-2 games in Omaha last month. On Wednesday, Milwaukee signed forwards Chaz Johnson and Arpad Mihaly to tryout contracts. Johnson, who has 10 goals and seven assists in 31 games for Rockford of the United Hockey League, had two stints with Milwaukee last season. Mihaly had 16 goals and 12 assists in 25 games with Reading of the East Coast Hockey League. About the Knights: Omaha went 7-5 in December. A 3-2 overtime loss in Peoria on Wednesday night was the Knights' third consecutive defeat. JSONLINE Last edited by 645; 01-26-2007 at 11:20 PM. Reason: Fixing errors on my part |

Step in wrong direction
Omaha cools off hot Milwaukee The Milwaukee Admirals have been improving steadily and hoped to impress that fact on the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, a team that definitely needed convincing, Thursday at the Bradley Center. The Admirals, who were 9-2-1-3 in the month of December, hoped to make a statement against the Knights, a divisional foe that definitely has had their number this season. Milwaukee missed a golden opportunity, however, as the Knights escaped with a 4-3 victory, rallying from a 2-0 first period deficit. The Admirals, who had been making steady progress climbing out of the West Division cellar, lost their second straight in falling to 16-14-3-3. The Admirals' fifth-place station in the division has largely been determined by their 1-4-0-1 record against the Knights in six meetings this season. JSONLINE |

Admirals Fall to Knights
Milwaukee, WI-Entering the game with only five wins in their eighteen contests against division rivals this season, the Milwaukee Admirals could very well add "improve record against division rivals" to their list of New Year's resolutions. Opening the New Year against the division rival Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, the Admirals came up a goal short of starting the year off right, with 4-3 loss to the Knights at the Bradley Center. Preview: Chicago Wolves vs. Admirals
About the Admirals: The Admirals have hit a bump in the road after finishing December with a nifty 9-2-1-3 record. Milwaukee lost its second straight game Thursday night, falling to the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, 4-3, after jumping out to a 2-0 lead. After the Knights scored their fourth consecutive goal, coach Claude Noel lifted goalie Karl Goehring in favor of Scott Reid. The Admirals added a pair of forwards before the Omaha game, Chaz Johnson and Arpad Mihaly. Johnson suffered a shoulder injury late in the first period Thursday and is out indefinitely. But Mihaly, said to be the first Romanian national to play professional hockey in North America, seemed to fit in well, assisting Jason Guerriero in the Admirals' final goal. About the Wolves: Chicago continues to own the best record, not only in the West Division, but in the Western Conferece. The Wolves' 53 points are second only to the defending Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears, who have 57. The Wolves have the best one-two offensive punch in the league in former Admiral Darren Haydar and Brett Sterling. Haydar leads the league in scoring (76 points), assists (62) and plus / minus (plus-24). Sterling is second scoring (54 points) and leads the league in goals (34) power-play goals (15). JSONLINE |
