Admirals Update - Tuesday, 01/02/07 - Tennessean.com
Admirals update: The Milwaukee Admirals are 7-3 over their last 10 games. Milwaukee has improved to 16-13-3 overall, tied for third place in the West Division of the AHL. Admirals center Rich Peverley saw his 14-game point streak stopped in Friday's win over Grand Rapids, but Peverley is still tied for 12th in AHL points with 38 (14 goals, 24 assists). Leahy in right place at right time
He scores the winner off assist from Abid The Milwaukee Admirals didn't give the Grand Rapids Griffins anything to write home about Friday night. Of all their American Hockey League opponents, the Griffins somehow find a way to bring out the best in the Admirals. And it certainly brought out the best in Pat Leahy, who scored the winning goal in the Admirals' 2-1 overtime victory over the Griffins in front of 7,506 fans at the Bradley Center. Leading a 2-on-1 break from Milwaukee's blue line, Ramzi Abid sent a perfect pass across the ice to Leahy, who blasted it past Griffins goaltender Jimmy Howard with 2 minutes left. It was the Admirals' only shot during overtime. JSONLINE |

Griffins lose in overtime
MILWAUKEE -- Pat Leahy scored three minutes into overtime Friday night to give the Milwaukee Admirals a 2-1 victory over the Grand Rapids Griffins at the Bradley Center. The Griffins' Josh Langfeld scored with 39 seconds left in regulation time to force overtime. Leahy then scored on the Admirals' only shot in overtime to hand the Griffins (13-15-4-2, 32 points) their sixth loss in seven games. Two of the defeats have been in overtime. The Griffins are 0-4 this season in the five-minute, four-on-four sessions. Grand Rapids Press |

Leahy Rings the Bell in Admirals Win
Milwaukee, WI-The sound of bells will soon be ringing in the New Year throughout the world, but tonight the sound of cowbells rang in the Milwaukee Admiral's 16th win of the season. The Admirals' cowbell promotion with Potawatomi Bingo Casino, a spectacular performance from Ads' net minder Karl Goehring, and a 2-1 win in overtime sent the crowd home happy. Goehring was less than a minute shy of recording his first shutout of the season. The goaltenders' 25-save performance and numerous breakaway saves kept Milwaukee in the game from the first drop of the puck until Patrick Leahy's overtime game-winning goal. Our Sports Central |

Iowa gets off to fast start, then hangs on
Des Moines, Iowa - The Milwaukee Admirals certainly wanted to end 2006 on a positive note. Unfortunately, the Admirals ran into a team they hadn't defeated this season. They lost to the Iowa Stars, 3-2, Saturday in an American Hockey League game. The Admirals finished December with a 9-2-1-3 record. Both regulation losses were at Iowa. JSONLINE |
