Nashville Massacre - Canucks look awful in loss ----------------------------------------------------- "Nashville Predators' 6-0 goal feast last night made the Vancouver Canucks look like turkeys in the only NHL game on American Thanksgiving." http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=185652&hubname=nhl Vokoun hurt in Predators win over Canucks ------------------------------------------------ "NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Nashville Predators made up for the loss of injured centres Jason Arnott and Josef Vasicek with a complete team effort." "Tomas got hit in the hand," Trotz said. "He was having trouble holding the stick so we pulled him out to have him evaluated. We'll have a clearer idea Friday. They took some X-rays. There is no break. But the doctor will look at him again." |

Preds trip up Red Wings "Notes: The Predators have outscored their opponents 32-11 in the second period. Kariya has nine points (two goals, seven assists) in his last seven games. Hartnell, with four penalty minutes, moved ahead of former Predator Scott Walker as the all-time penalty minutes leader with 461. Lang's goal was the 200th of his career. Zetterberg added to his team lead in goals for Detroit with eight." |

Defense quickly gets offense Preds speed helps blueline scoring "One of the offshoots for the Predators has been the opportunity to better utilize their slick and speedy defense — one that can not only combat an offensive barrage but can also fly down the ice with the forwards and attack. The result has been an impressive offensive output from some unusual suspects — the defense. Heading into Sunday night's games, the Predators were the only team in the NHL to have four defensemen with 11 or more points this season — Marek Zidlicky, Kimmo Timonen, Shea Weber and Ryan Suter." |

Radulov Gives Sneak Preview "The Nashville Predators had an extremely tough time sending Alexander Radulov to the minors. Their last cut in training camp was ready for the NHL, but in the end he was the only player left that could be sent to the American League without having to clear waivers. So in the end – he was." ... "The 20-year-old is forcing the Preds to make a move of sorts, because when Jason Arnott returns from his knee injury around Christmas time, they will not want to send this kid back. For keeper–league owners who were hoping for evidence that this kid is the real deal, you have it. Expect a 100-point season some time in his career. You can't say that about many prospects, but if you say about anyone – Alexander Radulov is the top candidate." |

Yahoo Fantasy advice : Mason's a keeper!
If you drafted Nashville backup goalie Chris Mason as insurance, give yourself a pat on the back. If you signed him after he shut out Colorado on Nov. 11, consider yourself lucky. And if you've missed the boat entirely, hey, that ship may not have sailed just yet. As of Sunday morning, the Preds' new No. 1 goalie remained available in about 33 percent of Yahoo! leagues. No. 1 for now, that is. In case you missed the news somewhere between plates one and three Thursday, Nashville goalie Tomas Vokoun tore a thumb ligament in a win over Vancouver. According to the Tennessean, Vokoun will undergo surgery Monday. Full recovery time is expected to be six weeks, but he could return much sooner if he can play with a cast or a modified blocker. You may remember that Mason was one of the league's hottest goalies down the stretch last season. After Vokoun was sidelined with a blood clot, Mason won six of his eight April starts, posting a 1.85 goals against average and a .932 save percentage. The Predators are plenty happy they didn't deal Mason, and they won't run out and rent a new starter with Vokoun on the shelf. Further good news for Mason owners: The Predators' next four opponents have a combined 29-53-8 record. Don't run out and grab call-up Karl Goehring, however. Nashville is expected to swing a deal for an experienced backup. |

Telly to Predators not likely "The presence of Toronto pro scouts Craig Button and Don Granato in Nashville on Saturday for the Predators --Red Wings' game created speculation that the Leafs were going to move third goaltender Mikael Tellqvist to Opryland. But with the Preds getting Michael Leighton on waivers from Anaheim yesterday, it appears the Leaf duo's visit had another purpose. Toronto general manager John Ferguson did not intend to have Tellqvist stay this long, hoping to trade him for at least a draft pick." |

Radulov brings sizzle, skill to his game "The next generation of Russian hockey players blessed with the potential to write their own history is now upon us. Alexander Radulov of the Nashville Predators is a prime member of this group. In fact, when Radulov's name is spoken, the words "dynamic" and "sniper" spring to mind. This prodigy has the capability to light the League on fire." |

Timonens plan an ice reunion Parents to attend their sons' first meeting on rink "Tonight, however, little brother gets to show big brother just how far he's progressed. Defenseman Jussi Timonen, recently promoted from the American Hockey League, will be in a Philadelphia Flyers uniform when the Predators visit Wachovia Center. And fittingly enough for the first on-ice meeting of the Timonens, the brothers' parents will be on hand to watch." |
