Shim - do you listen to Jimmy Dale Gilmore and his erstwhile band The Flatlanders much? He and they put out some great alt country.

I went with Other, as my favorite type of music is metal. Sure, many people make fun of it and call it just yelling/screaming and that it is not music, just noise. But, I do not care. I also like some Rock bands. Not all of the music I listen to is loud, hard, and fast.

The list of choices is skewed beyond belief....rap is a genre of music, Hiphop is not. Rock should be broken down to AT LEAST 5 categories, possibly more if you want to include Drum N Bass and other obscure branches.

My list would go....

t1. Metal
t1. Punk
t1. Ska
t1. Rap (underground & old school, mainly...no gangsta rap)
5. Classic Rock
6. Jazz/R&B
t7. Alternative
t7. Techno/Electronica

9,876,101. Polka
9,876,102. Country

i chose other and i'm a little dissappointed in u for not listing BLUES as a choice

nevertheless my choice of "ear candy" is as follows:

1. blues, blues, and more blues...!

2. "one hit wonder" type music from the old CKLW A.M. days just brings back my young years

3.classic rock

4. John Coltrane/Miles Davis

5. and i don't mind SOME hippity hoppity stuff

I picked rock. Rock has so much more diversity than hip hop; you can listen to classic rock, alternative rock, modern rock, rock ‘n roll… or anything else that has the word rock in it.

1. Rock
2. Hip hop
3. Blues

Is it just me or can most all of those categories be put into just two or three categories? Anyways, for me it's Punk, no doubt.

Rock is pretty much the only type of music I will listen to. Favorite bands are Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses, Ozzy, etc.

I've always kind of considered Mellincolin a pop-punk type music like Pulley, Pennywise, NOFX, Guttermouth. And Unwritten Law im not sure, maybe SoCal Punk, since i have no idea what the heck that is. Unwirtten Law seems hardly punk at all, perhaps more alternative.

When i think just Punk, i think Distillers, The Casulties, Bad Religion, U.S. Bombs, Angry Samoans, Agnostic Front, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Black Flag, Rancid, F-minus, etc.

Im a fan of Bad Religion, Rancid, The Transplants, Anti-Flag, but I really, really like Mellincolin, so i put them in punk, because they arent like blink-182...which is really 'pop-punk'.

Unwritten Law is really hard to define, some of their songs sound really 'pop-like' but then they have songs like Lost Control, Hellborn, Blame it on Me, Celebration Song which have a total punk feeling to them, and since they are from SoCal, i put them in that catagory...haha.
