Countrywide Bank, FSB, Thousand Oaks, CA, was offering a one-year CD at 4.97%--that's the best rate I can find.

In no order...

Jah Cure - True Reflections... A New Beginning
Kanye West - Graduation
Radiohead - In Rainbows
The Shins - Wincing The Night Away
LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
Common - Finding Forever

I thought it was a really weak year for albums this year. I'm trying to formulate 'best of' lists for my web site and the 'Best Songs' was far easier to do than 'best albums'. I can usually find about 20 that I love, but not this year.

I heard a cut off 'Raising Sand' on NPR yesterday and I plan to get it too. I hear that Robert and Allison played a small club in Nashville called The Station End, I bet that was a hard ticket to come by. It's just a little hole in the wall, but was one of my favorite places to go hear music when I lived in Music City.

It is odd, isn't it? I really like 'Raising Sand', and I was never a big Robert Plant fan. Not two voices I would have chosen to pair, but it works.

I'm only vaguely familiar with a third of the above: Kanye West and Radiohead.

I prefer music from the 20s, 30s and 40s.

Wiggs, you really should give a listen to Levon Helm. His new album is great. And Allison has one of the sweetest voices I've ever heard.

I will. The album got great reviews.

I've always liked two-part harmony singing, so it probably isn't surprising that I like the Plant/Krauss combination. I was a big Everly Brothers fan in my younger days, and Raising Sand has two old Everly numbers on it.

Krauss does have a sweet voice.
