Right up my alley, DD. Glad to see early PF has another fan here. Although I prefer the earlier Yes albums, and Styx prior to them wimping out around the time of Cornerstone.

I agree that Sonic Temple is a great album that flew under the radar. Every song on it is great (I totally forgot about it til my dad was listening to it yesterday, kinda ironic that I just saw this thread).

I think Extreme got screwed over by "More Than Words"... they released two should be-classic albums in Pornograffitti and III Sides to Every Story. Really anyone who likes 80's rock should listen to them.

I think Steve Vai's "Passion and Warfare" gets overlooked because it's an instrumental album, but he's just amazing (finally saw him for the first time at UB this fall... he's just rediculous).

Other albums I'd include:
Aerosmith - Get Your Wings
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffitti (IMO their best)
basically everything by ELO

Who doesn't like Pink Floyd that's here? They're one of my favorite bands.

My record as a Pink Floyd hater is pretty well established. I can't understand why anyone likes this band. I was into UmmaGumma for a couple of acid trips, and still think "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathering Together in a Cave and Grooving With a Pict" is the only thing they ever did worth paying any attention to, but really, these guys are dull.

While I was never a great Queen fan, I'd probably point to things like a charismatic front man, catchy songs, and a very nice guitar player.

Because if you hear your favorite team being serenaded by their signature song, you know you've had a great sports year.
